She didn't seem at all "pissed off" to me. Pretty matter-of-fact, IMO.

Until the Sooner players started mouthing off about how they could do what they want, because they won.

And I say this as someone who was pulling for Okie in that game.

A lot of these folks didn't start watching until the 2000's so it's all they know.

Alabama has a 60.3 winning percentage since WWII when they don't have a hall of fame coach on the sidelines.

That's an average regular season record of 7-5.

No, more like John Bell ...

John Bell Hood was aggressive, often to the point of recklessness.

It was Halloween, October 31, 1981. I met my wife at a Halloween party after the game. The saber incident happened right in front of us. SMU cheerleaders were attempting to do something on the field during a timeout. The senior cadet ran onto the field to chase them off. Drawing his saber was an extremely dumb thing to do

Averages are dumb. Because what actually happens is we have many good seasons and then a few bad seasons here and there bring the average down.

Also, we didn't have 12 game regular seasons until like 2003.

You're basically talking about 24 years of history. From 1983 through 2006.

In that time Alabama had a total of 10 seasons with 7 wins or less. 7 of them happened between 1997 and 2006.

I'm counting bowl games because in this time period only 3 seasons had 12 games.

From 1983 through 1996 Alabama had a total of 3 seasons with 7 wins or less. 1 under Ray Perkins(his 2nd year), 1 under Bill Curry(his first year) and 1 under Gene Stallings(his first year).

1997 through 2006 is what we call the dark ages for that reason. We were constantly hit with sanctions in this time period and I don't know if you have noticed, but the NCAA isn't beating down our door giving us sanctions. And even if they were, they don't really do much damage these days with the portal and NIL.

You're right, Alabama actually went 0-10 in 1955. If you apply the 60% to a 10 game season, it's only 6 wins.

I was being generous.

Jesus, going 0-fer for a whole season. That must suck.

So now you're going back to the days of Ears?

I think you've pretty much made my point for me. I'm one of the older fans on this forum and that's even beyond my days.

Ok, at this rate, we only had 1 such season between 1983 and 1997 rather than 3.

And also only 5 of them instead of 7 from 1997 to 2006.

So now we are down to 6 total in the 24 years, otherwise known as 25% of the time. And again, 5 of them occurred in a short time period due to NCAA sanctions.

Staffer doing what the boss said to do.

Need to criticize the bosses rather than a $15 per hour employee.

No, not "now", I said "since WWII". Ears Whitworth was Alabama's coach in the 50s, WWII ended in 1945.

As such, I would've thought you would know when Ears coached and when WWII was over.

My point still stands, since WWII, Alabama has a 60.3 win% without a HOF coach on their sidelines.

Because they are afraid the middle of the field might get stepped on after 3+ hours of football were played on it?

I missed the WW2 thing, but it doesn't really matter because averages are for stupid people who get manipulated by stats.

You're talking about an extra time period of about 12 years. I'll ignore that the regular season was sometimes 9 or 10 games, and say there were 8 years during that time period in which Alabama had 6 wins or less.

But I would like to highlight that in one of those years we only had 6 wins, we finished the season ranked #11 and we also won the SEC. And we played 11 games that regular season.

What kind of shite are you going to try next to create this narrative?
