Call me crazy, but I'd pick Mullen. Considering what he did at a school with fairly limited resources while sharing a division with LSU, Auburn, and Alabama, he has had some tremendous success while running a fairly clean program and developing some great players.

Kelly doesn't seem like the kind of coach that is going to truly elevate ok talent to be better than the sum of its parts. Dan is the man for that.

I would pick Mullin as well- did more with less at Miss State.

Kelly had almost unlimited resources at Oregon (thanks to Nike)

besides I think Mullins is a better coach.... he may be a jackass, but he does not run from a challenge (and make no mistake the SEC is a challenge)

Okay obviously you no more about situation than I do. My point still stands Kelly is a better coach but he wasn’t all in with Florida, Mullen was, so this question is moot because we couldn’t get Kelly.

he went to UCLA because he spent a lot of time in the pac 10/12 as a coach and had a level of comfort and familiarity there that he didnt have with the SEC.

Did you ask for his autograph when you talked to him?

Imagine if you weren't wrapped up in such bias. I love when I see shite from dawgs laughing at the thought of the Gators beating UGA in 2018...not 2019 or 2020. Footballs take funny bounces rig and you are not invincible my friend.

Any time you lace them up in SEC game...you can lose. You cant judge last year to this year...foolish to do so.
Not saying we will beat dawgs but certainly not saying we'll lose either. I have watched SEC football closely since 1962 and there is a reason Vegas bets on college football...its never a sure thing. If every game was a sure thing there would be no reason to play the game. Oh, and have a downvote.

Did you mean to post in a thread discussing Georgia playing Florida?

Pick a coach: Kelly vs Mullen by GatorBait24
All I can say is you didn’t see threads like this when Mac was the head guy. This just shows me we are on the right track, we’ve been an afterthought for years, not anymore. Gets me excited.

You signed up in 2016, so how would you know?

You do realize you can read this site without signing up. I visited this site for a couple years before I jumped in the cesspool. You can’t just sign up and start posting without knowing the lay of the land. That’s how you end up being a terrible poster like you.

You’re crazy. Chip took a shite ton of “athletes” and made a successful football team.

He wasn’t pulling in 5 star defensive players.
He wasn’t pulling in 5 star offensive guys either.
He took advantage of good 4 stars and just athletic guys.

His system is better than Mullen’s.

You’re not wrong, but OP forgot to mention we didn’t get to choose. Kelly didn’t want to be at Florida. This thread is pointless, we all know Kelly is a better coach.

They sure do take funny bounces and for YEARS at the WLOCP they bounced in Florida's favor. From missed FGs by Billy Bennett and Gordon Kelso to dropped TD passes by Terrence Edwards to DO Shockley missing the '05 game to us fumbling in OT in '10.The ball bounced or sailed in your direction in almost every close game in the 90's and 00's with the lone exception being '12.

I would have gone with Chip Kelly before, but I really think Coach Mullin may end up being the better hire after all. He has totally embraced the job and seems to be all over the place re-energizing the fan base after a few duds as coaches. I think Kelly would be a lot less visible and possibly not nearly as successful. Only time will tell, but Mullin is doing everything right so far imo.

Yep, the football has failed to bounce in UGA's favor since 1980. That's 38 years of bad bounces.

Mullen.

Kelly is a good HC, but he hasn't done squat against SEC talent. Mullen made St. successful. St.

Aren't you cute...pulling out the 1980 card.Funny, you'd give your left nut for the season we had last year and unlike UF's last 3 visits to the SECCG we actually showed up and represented the SECE.

I'll take our roster, future and our coach over the Gators any day of the week.Keep on hoping for '08 repeat because it ain't happening any time soon.

More football talent in a 300 mile radius of Starkeville than Oregon. Not even close.

Thanks Nostradamus. But I would not give my left nut for anything associated with UGA. Now go check the stats who has actually showed up and represented more often in the SECCG. UF 12 games 7 wins, UGA leghumpers, a pathetic 6 games 3 wins. You bitches have some catching up to do
