it's not based on "hype." All you have to do is watch the top 2 and see the impact they make.

Not that it makes you feel better but Darius English is tied for #2 in sacks and he's off the list all together.

South Alabama Bammer told me that there were 3 Alabama players better than Carl Lawson, though.

So Key is leading the league in sacks and has played one less game than the rest but is #5?
When you add all pressures together where is he on the list? Dude can ball, but prior to this past weekend (I haven't looked at it with this past weeks games but I doubt it has changed) Carl Lawson was leading the league in pressures.

Paging BHMKyle....requesting in depth pass-rush/tfl analysis of SEC =)
So the PFF guy just ranks 'em how he "thinks?" I see statistical verbiage in there, but I see:
Arden Key at no. 5 with 5 games played, 7 sacks, 7.5 TFL
Myles Garrett at no. 1 with 6 games played, 4 sacks, 6 TFL
Also, only 1 LSU game was against a non-P5 opponent. List = crap.
EDT I am limited to a few sites to get stats, so couldn't get pressures. But still, Arden Key should be no. 1 based on production. If PFF wants to rate based on reputation they should fix the title of their article.

It isnt how he thinks. Theyre graded by every snap they play.

What? He didn't travel to USCe and he probably only played 20 of the 100 snaps against Tennessee

Is that the play that ended with Dobbs nearly dead and the ball popping 20 feet in the air?

No point in arguing with L5u fans about player ranking, no matter what the facts, formulas used or just the good Ole watch them play analysis they will always rank their players as the best.
They still believe they have the most talented team in the nation over Bama. They're dusional, homer sheeps.

We will let the rest of the season make the case.... List is laughable.

Then not ranked by any measures they give you. It's an opinionated list with some different statistics thrown in for each player.
This is what drives me crazy with PFF College football articles. They give you random stats here and there and "rank" the guys yet there's no rhyme or reason because they dont just list out the stats they are talking about for everyone.

Of course that's what will make the case. However, saying the list is laughable is dumb. There are very good players ahead of Keys. None of which is it laughable to say they're better than him.
Is it really laughable to say Garrett is better? Barnette, Williams, or Lawson?
No, it's not.

It drives your entire fanbase crazy since they don't share the same opinion of your 225 lb linebacker

Apologies, my bad on the "6" games. That being said, Key is still a good bit ahead in sacks and tfl. No one has posted QB pressures, so I don't know there. Even if MG has a big lead in pressures, Key at #5 is still ridiculous.

No it's not ridiculous especially if you look at the players ahead of him on the list. All 4 of them a very good players and all can make a case to be ahead on Keys. What's ridiculous is L5u fans and their constant over rating their own players, like the 7 1st rounders for the 2017 draft claimed to on the team.

2._Derek Barnett_6__5.0___9.5
3._Tim Williams__6__3.5___5.5
4._Carl Lawson__6__6.0___7.0
5._Arden Key___5___7.0___7.5
Yes it is ridiculous. The only guy listed ahead of Key that has more production in even one stat is DB (1.58 TFL per game vs 1.50 for Key). Key has 2 more sacks in 1 less game, but DB is the only one you can even argue about if the list is based on actual production.

This has been somewhat true as we typically only use one of him or Anderson in nickel especially early in the game unless it's an obvious passing down. In most games you might see our base defensive personnel 3 or 4 snaps a game.
Against Arkansas we were in base, in which both Williams and Anderson play, nearly the entire first half.
