Probably when the SEC adds two more teams and they go away.

Just need to go to a 9 game schedule...

With the money CBS & ESPN are gonna have to shell out in the next contract it's inevitable. They are going to want the extra inventory of games to justify making 14 SEC teams filthy rich...

Then it's 6-1-2 & all are happy...

If LSU played Vandy every year as its permanent opponent you wouldn't give a shite about permanent rivals. The 'time between playing other teams' argument is a smokescreen.

LSU needs to grow a pair. We played Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU for years and never complained. In fact, we want Florida back.

9 game sched fixes just about everything. The paydays are going to be ridiculous as stated and then teams can actually play everyone.

My guess is the SEC also continues to pressure for the dumbing down of bowls so that a 5 win team can get a bid and throw out the FCS team exclusion. Lower tier bowls are all about trying to make a few bucks anyway, they don't care.

only in conference. 9 games hurts OOC schedule

Dear god I hope a 5 win team never gets a bowl bid. I am tired of corporate sponsors ruining NCAA bowl games. The teams lose money going to them and it only furthers the curent mentality of everyone gets a trophy in todays society

At this point, I'd say bowls are pretty much already ruined. They're all but meaningless anymore.

No it doesn't

A&M will have 4 home SEC games, Bama 5 home SEC games.....again- unfair.

9 games makes it worse, not better- and destroys any OOC type major games

In the following year, Bama will have 4 home games and A&M 5...

Yeah big time OOC games are just unrealistic with a 9 game conference schedule. Except the Pac 12 does it, and the ACC is going to next year,

The permanent rivalry thing, with the current 8 game SEC schedule, is pretty dumb.

Guys won't play every team in the SEC as they go through their career. That doesn't feel like a conference.

If they are going to keep that, they need to go to a 9 game SEC schedule.

Or add 2 teams and make 4 pods of 4 teams each.

Both would cure that issue.

And then what happens to the SEC team's OOC permanent rival?
