Figures the race card would be played, always is. The difference is Clarke flashed the “you can’t see me” sign one time at the Louisville player while Reese followed Clarke around the court constantly flashing the “you can’t see me” sign up close and in her face along with the ring sign. That’s not doing “the exact same thing”. Big difference. Reese had every right to flash it but went too far. Not a classy look.

It was the equivalent of playground trash talking. People are making way too much out of this.

What GPA?
Does she have one?
Didn't meet the minimum requirements for Wooden award.
Guys... She's really smart.

Probably in the same college courses as Angel.
Definitely not an advanced course.

You could see it coming when LSU was selected. The stupid clowning and dancing around. AR brings the criticism to herself with the actions of a hip hop rapper.

The sports media hates Mulkey because she won't follow their political narratives. The attacks on Reese are simply proxy attacks on Mulkey. Neither Reese or Clark or Mulkey have done anything wrong. The criticism is coming 100% from leftist hatemongers and their willingness to objectify Reese to try and score points against Mulkey shows the true lack of regard they hold for black athletes.

There is a lot of truth in the coach angle...folks do not like LSUs coach for some reason....several callers in Feinbaum yesterday said something akin to "the players mimic their leadership....". WHy is Mulkey so disliked?

Anyone who doubts that there are some who see the LSU player's actions as "cultural" while the Iowa player's actions are "competitive" are as delusional as someone saying there is none of that...there definitely is. I think it has more to do with the dislike for LSUs coach than anything...but I have heard people on sports talk radio and in person claim it was a "cultural" thing with Reese...

I do not follow the special olympics so I ain't a WBB fan but it is obvious listening to sports talk radio that there is a lot of truth in this...why do so many people have such passionate views about Mulkey? I heard an interview with her a couple of weeks ago and she struck me as an Ed O type with a better grasp of what it takes to win. Why people get wrought up over "celebrities" politics is beyond me...she could well be a flaming lesbian or a reprobate homophobe...why anyone would care either way is on them, not her. Either side is guilty of what they would accuse the other side of. At the end of the day she is a basketball coach, she is, in the overall scheme of things she is a basketball coach and nothing more and nothing less...

I’m sure for some it is race related but for many of us it isn’t about race, it’s about demeanor. Reese = Marshall Henderson.. Be it ghetto or trailer park, both produce some trash, and some folks will dislike them for the demeanor that upbringing instills in them, it isn’t race, it’s class

Caitlin Clark’s unapologetic and record-setting game look to take Iowa to new heights

The attitude
A crucial part of Clark’s ascendance — her appeal, really — is how she is collapsing (outdated) assumptions about how women’s players act and yap on the court.

She thumps her chest, barks at refs and eggs on the crowd.

It’s part of the show.

In the Elite Eight, for instance, she was captured telling Louisville’s Hailey Van Lith, “You’re down 15 points. Shut up,” and punctuated a play with John Cena’s signature “you can’t see me” hand gesture (“Even if they could see you…they couldn’t guard you!” the WWE star tweeted).

But there was this little hint from Insider

Caitlin Clark's 'very disrespectful' defense against South Carolina is motivating LSU in the national championship game

Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark played noticeably lax defense against the then-undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks in the Final Four.

And LSU Tigers players — who face Clark and her Hawkeyes in Sunday's national championship game — found Clark's antics "very disrespectful."

"Me personally, I find it very disrespectful," LSU guard Alexis Morris told ESPN Saturday. "So I'm going to take that personally going into that game."

"You're going to have to guard us," she added. "That's just the competitor in me, and the will to win."

When tasked with defending freshman Gamecocks guard Raven Johnson, Clark guarded her from a considerable distance. At one point when Johnson had the ball outside the three-point line during Friday night's contest, the 6-foot Iowa point guard waved her hand dismissively and continued to double-team South Carolina's bigs in the paint.

So make of it what you will.

The real reason she is being criticized is because of this…..The country became extremely fanatical of Caitlin Clark so they are blinded/forgiving to any trash talk she does and extremely criticalof anyone who trash talks Clark and will defend Caitlin to no end. Similar to how Swwifties do Taylor Swift or the Beyhive does Beyoncé.
Yeah, I think this was the spark that started it all.

Nobody watches women's basketball, so the media had to create another Sue Bird/Cheryl Miller that everyone could say "oh, she's great", and could get behind. Clark was having a phenomenal tourney, so she fit that role.
But then, LSU screwed up the narrative.
A) they beat her team
B) an LSU player, in her excitement about winning a title, showed her up on the court.

And let's be honest here- Reese wasn't going to "taunt" the Iowa team, or another player. She directed that towards the player who was scoring 40+ a game, getting all the national coverage, who was already crowned as the Next Big Thing.

Here's a bit of perspective (not nearly the same stage):
long ago when I was in middle school, I remember some kid that was supposed to become a big highschool stud athlete. Nice guy, but somehow (I guess he looked right), people (teachers, coaches etc) talked about him. Meanwhile, I was a kid who often got in trouble, they knew me as the kid who got sent to the office.
One day in PE, the principal came out and wanted to watch that kid. He and the coaches wanted to see him do his thing. They set up a race, to get his time in the 100. A couple were patting him on his shoulders. Me being cocky and ultra-competitive at the time, I volunteered to be the "other" guy.
I beat him by 2 strides

The "adults" looked pissed and confused, and the principal went back inside. I guess ain't nobody came to see ME run. We all went back to doing our normal PE stuff.
I never accomplished shite in sports past that level, btw. And neither did the other dude.

I see a little of that same attitude in what's going on now with Reese and Clark, but instead of a couple dumbass coaches and principals, it's most of social media. They picked a favorite and built that person up, and it didn't pan out the way they wanted.

"She called herself that"? If you want to be an honest critic, listen again to what she was saying in her interview. This is what she heard all season long from the haters out there. She was simply describing what she had been called. She was not calling herself that. Which is why she said she took notes all season long. She said that she knew she would have a platform post game, win or lose & rather than explode all during the season, she PLANNED for what she was going to say, to get back then at her haters. As for no body knowing who she was, in apparently questioning her assertation of so many haters, ladies basketball is big at many areas of the country; not so big in others. But racist haters are everywhere. Just look at the amount of hate one smaller state, Iowa, produced. Their rants are filled with 100% racists. But the really good thing is she's said she doesn't give a shite & is happy out of her mind. The same way CKM feels about her haters.
