They damn sure ought to be with a roster just about as old as the OKC Thunder. Of course, I think most major programs that are genuine tourney threats are going to be that old anyway under NIL.

As they should. I think the non-conference schedule they've had over the past few years hasn't really helped them come tourney time. I'm' not saying they had a horrendous schedule but it wasn't exactly good for them to blow their competition out two days a week.

Well, USC and Indiana were tourney teams the year before with good players coming in. Not sure he could have foreseen them falling off a cliff for whatever reason

Exactly. Going into the season, the schedule looked much more difficult. Indiana and USC were both major disappointments last year.

Auburn will play in Maui this November. We don’t know the bracket yet, but here are the participating teams along with the Jon Rothstein Preseason Top 45 ranking:

#5 Iowa State
#6 UConn
#7 N. Carolina
#11 Auburn
#26 Michigan State
#32 Memphis
NR Dayton
NR Colorado

This should get Auburn at least 2, maybe 3 quality OOC opponents.

We’ve been playing in the Atlanta Hoopsgiving Event in December…I assume we’ll likely play someone decent there.

There are rumors we’re headed to Duke in the ACC/SEC Challenge, but that’s unconfirmed.

That lineup is weak for Maui. Probably because the town burned down and they dont have the accommodations for fans and teams

Arkansas will likely get Duke again. It’s a much bigger draw.

Not really. Four of the eight teams should be Preseason AP Top 12-15…. If Michigan State starts out in the Preseason Top 25, that will be five ranked teams.

Last season, there were 5 Preseason Top 25 teams.

In 2022-23, there were 5 Preseason Top 25 teams (but zero in the Top 8).

In 2021-22, there were just 3 Preseason Top 25 teams (zero in the Top 10).

In 2020-21, there were just 2 Preseason Top 25 teams (zero in Top 15)

Also this year there appears to be zero garbage teams included unlike most years (Chaminade last year and in 2022)… UNLV and Davidson both in 2020, etc.

Yeah. If I remember correctly, Hog fans stormed the court after they beat Duke. Was the first time they’d stormed the court since they beat…. Auburn back in ‘22.

Well good for them. I know I enjoy our brutal pre conference games since Oats arrived because they're fun to watch and just playing those games gets you ready for the SEC and beyond.

I love the approach Coach Oats is taking. I'm sure Pearl has seen the excitement and results from manning up against the Big Boys. BAMA is becoming must watch TV. Kinda reminds me of football.

Because you’re an Auburn fan. Meanwhile, Arkansas vs Duke in Bud Walton was a prime time game on ESPN nationally televised.

Congratulations on your big win over one of the worst Arkansas teams in several years.

Auburn fans sure do have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to Arkansas basketball. Y’all really don’t like that Arkansas beat that arse in Bud Walton.

And in a hilarious cope, Auburn fans think Arkansas fans stormed the court because of them. It was due to beating the #1 team. Arkansas has a big winning record over Auburn, it’s not a big deal to beat y’all.

Personally, I think storming the court is cringe. Considering our great history, we’ve beaten top teams before and there’s no need for it.
