Finebaum loves whoever the hot team in the SEC is
But he owes a ton of credit for his success to Saban...if Saban doesn't go to Bama, they don't become the powerhouse they are today...Auburn keeps tubbs and the boring status quo in the state of Alabama continues
But since Alabama got Saban, Auburn has been trying to find the right guy (it appears we have) and both schools are trying to dominate football...this led to 09 Bama and 10 Auburn championships which made Finebaum the go to guy in Alabama for ESPN
Which led to national syndication of his show of crazy white trash on xm or whatever and led to Saban with ESPN permantly

Paul Finebaum was stirring the shite long before Saban got to Bama, or LSU, for that matter.
He hates Tennessee, for whatever reason. He hates everything and everyone for that matter ... with the possible exception of Saban, and maybe Spurrier, but that hasn't stopped him from slamming SCAR on occasion even under Spurrier and especially before Spurrier.
He was brutal to SCAR when we first entered the league and actually used to advocate strongly against us on his show and in his column ... to be thrown-out.
He's really softened, across the board, over the years. He's still obnoxious and why people listen to him is beyond most sane men.

He has a Saban man crush. He wasn't this way with Shula.

Finebaum is a homer to whichever instate (Alabama) team is hot at the moment.

Only time I ever listen is when I have literally nothing else to do AND it's the day after something either fan base is going to melt hard about
Listened the day after the IB and listened some during the Saban rumors...before that I can't tell you the last time I listened to him...probably when I was still at Auburn and that was the only sports talk on the radio while I drove

I know he gave the Cocks a good beating (heh) when ya'll got into the SEC as I have a friend who went to school there and he despised Pawl for it.
He tried poormouthing A&M initially, but it was with more joy than I should have had that I listened to his show for a week after we had the surprise win at Bama last year. He had to eat a lot of crow then. Sometimes I wish he were still on Sirius, but I don't miss him for the most part.

Finebaum has been around for a minute. However, more than any other single person, Harvey Updyke helped propel him to his current pay scale. Not sayinh it might not have happened anyway, but it is what it is.

This is how I know you're new to finebaum.
No, he's blasted Bama as much as any team over the years. There just isn't a lot to bash, when the team is winning 12 games a year and piling up NC's.
He's a master troll. Most of what he says is for reaction.
Don't listen to finebaum. It's for mouth-breathers.

I am totally amazed that ESPN gave him larger exposure. He is one of the worst I have ever heard.
THe love for Saban extends to FInebaum! All you Saban lovers should be calling ESPN and asking for share of the $$$

Finebaum is for..... Finebaum. He is great at inciting strife and reaction, and generally eases towards any team he can that will help increase his ratings. He is absolutely not a Bama "homer".

He is a NS homer and has said so many times..He has also said he is not a bama homer. get it scraight or don't play the game

I think Finebaum is way overrated and a bit of hack.

It's all a big act. Finebaum is the pro wrestling of sports radio.

Paul Finebaum has lived in Birmingham for many years. It's practically a written rule that, if you live in Alabama, you have to pull for either Bama or Auburn. Probably is biased towards the Tide, but all in all, he's pretty knowledgeable and tells it like it is. Hate to say it, but it's hard to criticize Alabama lately.
Fun fact: Did you know he was Jewish?
