if only a&m can get a coach in that understands this and starts running our program like the business it is. we have the resources to do it, but we just need the brain for the foresight (and sumlin definitely ain't it)

Kiffin needs a someone like Saban above him to keep him in line, IMHO. It's been good for his career.

Yep, he has coaches in waiting for his asst coaches. Already learning the system and familiar so they can just step in.

Hell, Sark being unemployed and waiting to be scooped up makes total sense in hindsight, Saban just had the authority, resources, and foresight to do it.

#TheProcess

Not just Sark but Saban has Mike Locksley on staff. Locksley is an experienced OC and head coach himself. Locksley also brought the older Diggs brother to Maryland when he was there and I believe he was instrumental in bringing the younger Diggs brother to Bama.

Didn't Petrino leave Louisville on very bad terms originally?

Yes. He got caught taking the Auburn meeting while Tubby was still coaching, lied, had it proven, lied some more, and then finally had to backtrack and admit that he did it. Then I think he lied some more before heading out the door for Atlanta the next year. Then their football program disentigrated in less than 2 years, so that didnt help either.

Time (and desperation for relevance) heals all wounds.

Not true at all. He started in Bham and this stuff that is relatively new to you is old as Jerry Springer to us. He is good at interviews and he gets good guest. The calls are just Jerry Springer filler for a 4 hour radio program.(back in the day), that some of us would listen to while we worked. His record of coaching decisions(and being in the "know" over the last 20 years is horrible) and he has zero credibility on the subject. He is simply a man who throws shite against a wall, and if it sticks, he says, "I told you so." Just like the rest of his kind.

If it indeed over it's because Saban feels this is best for his program.

Don't think it's a coincidence than Sark was brought in.

Saban got what he wanted out of Kiffin and we appreciate what he did but Saban won't let the program get stale.

Paul Finebaum is pathetic.

He doesn't know anything about football. I am confounded as to how he got to the position he is.

He's worse. I laugh when someone asks him who he thinks will win. "My sense is . ." And his eyes fog over when someone starts talking real football.

He's basically a glorified gossip columnist who rode Saban's fame to a position at ESPN.

He's a damn Yankee that graduated from Tennessee.

There's no more love between Alabama fans and Finebaum than there is between Auburn or LSU fans and Finebaum.

You gotta give Paul Finebaum some credit. He was a shitty Birmingham sports writer and he saw that Bama and Auburn fans hated each other with a passion and he got wealthy off of that hatred by being a shite stirrer. Its that intelligence that GOD gave his chosen people when it comes to making money. That skinny, bald, bastard is pretty clever.

This would NEVER happen, but the most Kiffin thing possible would be if he came to Auburn.

This. Until I read this thread. Thought sark was the next in line and no one cared if kiffin left?

I hope he stays for a long time. 2 SECC and possibly repeat NCs with 3 different starting QBs, one of which is a true freshman, and the other two had hardly any experience. I do not understand what people can complain about.

Actually it isn't even new yet

I listened once in 2008 while working in Alabama. Never did again. I just laugh when he is mentioned. I don't watch espn or sec network other than. Games last 3 years. So he isn't on my radar

Hijack...

Did the admins open the SEC Score Board yesterday? I don't remember seeing it(I was slightly drunk).

I'm trying to find the Iron Bowl game thread and I'm not having much success.

If Lane Kiffen were really mad about the "arse chewings", then, I think that would see a Lane Kiffen move. The thing is, he isn't even the first generation coach in his family, and getting his arse chewed on National tv, is likely one of the first lessons he learned how to deal with.
