Well, he's never been 3rd in the West in his life, so I guess that's that

In terms of accomplishments, it would be hard to argue that Finebaum is wrong.

AJ is a great QB but showing a gif of him with tons of protection hitting a wide open WR for a TD doesn't make him special.

The real question is how many QB's could you put on Bama and still win 2 NC's as well as how many teams could you put McCarron on where they would go from a Bowl team to a NC team. I'm guessing that comparison doesn't favor him.

McCarron is a perfect fit at Bama because he is smart and works within the offense. He doesn't try to do too much and he rarely makes a mistake. He isn't a guy that goes out and wins games by himself very often. Nothing wrong with that and he may well play in the NFL for a decade but he's not an All Time great player unless you just go by team wins.

How about, let's say, luckiest?

There would be a large number of quarterbacks that could've done just what he did during his time at Alabama.

Come on...the guy has thrown 8 INT's his entire career. 690 attempts. That ain't luck. That is ridiculous.

That horrendous chest tattoo negates anything he has ever done and ever will do in college.

Best = very subjective and open to debate
Most accomplished = absolutely, no question

By that logic, you could take anyone from that class on Bama's team and say they're the best ever.

He's like the Jacob Hester of QB's. He just trudges along and gets it done.

He is not making the game winning plays like the great QBs do.

Because he doesn't have to because we're usually up by a couple thousand points at the end of every game - with a couple exceptions.

He threw 30 TDs last year with only 3 interceptions and right around 3000 yards passing.

That's pretty good, by the way.
