This happens all the time.
Well, not at LSU, but it happens all the time with teams that have functional offenses.

I remember Auburn running that play unsuccessfully against Georgia in 2009. Ole Miss also ran that play in the Cotton Bowl too
No,they didn't. In the 145 yrs of college football this first happened Nov 8 when Alabama did it vs LSU.

While it's the exact play Bama ran vs LSU, it's nothing groundbreaking. Teams steal plays from other teams all the time. Some phrase about imitation and flattery.

What you should do with that play is lateral it to the ineligible RB and then have him throw to the QB on a swing route while the defense is busy covering that extra TE thinking they've got you figured out.

This thread is dumb. There is literally nothing new with that formation and that play. I have seen it run a ton of times over the last 3 decades. Heck, we had that formation in our high school playbook.

But Mike and Mike said so?

Yea, I remember in 2009 we got flagged a couple times for running that play. Gus was pissed. I think it was against UGA where there was a clip of him literally explaining how the formation worked to the ref. no dice

It really was a damn good play in both situations....not surprising that Saban and his staff were the first to use it honestly.

Chicken Fillet stole the chicken sandwich from Bama.

Still torn over not winning a playoff game, Bama fans are trying to inject themselves into the NFL playoffs.
