Huh? Are we reading the same forum?

I bet on oklahoma but think we win. Not because we are better, because vegas clearly wants everyone betting on Oklahoma. That's usually a sign that they know something.

Ummm, the line did not drop because Vegas "wants everyone betting on Oklahoma" because everyone was betting on Oklahoma. It dropped to get more money on the Texas side.

Vegas sports books don't take sides, they play the middle and take a percentage regardless which team wins.

The trick is to get that money to even out.

We don't have to "sell out" to get pressure on anybody, and Oklahoma is the best screen destroyer in the country.

Pate is an idiot with the worse case of little-man syndrome I can recall. OU will win and it may not even be close.

That's not on Arch, that's on Sark. Sark wanted to attack Florida deep but the offensive line couldn't give Arch time for the play to develop. 45% of Arch's passes on Saturday were 20 yards or more down the field. That was by design and unfortunately Sarks game plan was a failure.

It’s on Arch to go through his progressions and at the least see what the defense is giving up. Sark can’t do it for him. Unless of course Sark is calling plays where all the receivers go deep.

Ok, I’ve heard OU’s DL is good. So if they don’t have to “sell out” - then they might be able to shut down Texas similar to how Florida’s DL did. I could see that.

Still not convinced that Hawkins or a one handed Mateer are going to thrive. That’s a big unknown still.

which is the case almost every time we play a team with a group of elite players on defense.
He really does seem clueless. At this point you'd think we'd be dialing up short, quick developing pass plays, rolling arch out of the pocket more, etc.

it is what it is.

I just don’t see how Texas comes out and looks like shite again, given the lackluster piss poor performance in Gainesville last week. If an ugly loss in a game y’all were favored over a coach who was flatlining before kickoff doesn’t resonate with motivating Sark and his staff, then it really is time to look for a new ball coach. That said, Texas has to play with its hair on fire and I think they get it done. Give me the horns by 3

whorn never shows up to RRS without a plan. Our defense is dominant up front and they won't be able to block any of them, and we're the best 3rd down and screen defense in the country.

I don't know what Sark will draw up to counter all that, but he'll find something we haven't seen yet. I'm confident of that. And I fully expect their defense will play better on Saturday.

You need time to do that if your first read is deep.

you actually just proved my point. It dropped because everyone is betting on oklahoma because they clearly think Texas is going to cover or win. At some point they line is going to always drop when all the money is going one side.

I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over my comment. I think Oklahoma is the better team. I just don't understand that spread at all. Makes zero sense to me. I would expect Oklahoma to be favored by 7.5 at least.

Damn man, they should hire you to be the OC.

Gosh, why didn't the other five teams who faced OU thought of this?

To be fair, I came to this conclusion before we played Florida last week, and perhaps losing to Florida will be the motivation needed to come out and beat Oklahoma this week. If that is the case, that is a trade I would make 100 out of a 100 times..

I guess you are retracting your prediction that Texas would be going 10-2 this year from a couple of weeks back on that thread you started with your breakdown.

If they wanted to pay me to field an inept offense then sure. We're doing that now anyway.
Before you get too overly sensitive towards anyone who criticizes your God, sark, there are plenty of football folks online saying the same thing. People who've coached at that level.

Yes, unless we pull a monkey out of our hat this weekend.

We could lose out or win out or anywhere in between. We have a lot of talent, but something is off this year. Maybe it starts clicking, but I think it's more likely we lose out than win out.

eta: While Arch is still a work in progress, I don't think he was the problem in the Florida game. We have issues in the trenches until proven otherwise.
