Washington will be a badass team next year. They bring back Penix and his two 1,000 yd receivers I believe. It’ll be DeBoer’s 2nd season too.

I assume everyone is hyping Penn St because of QB Drew Allar plus they beat everyone not named Michigan and Ohio St with relative ease. They also led in the 2nd half of both of the losses. They’ll still likely do what they’ve always done under Franklin - win the games they should & lose when it is expected.

Just stopping by not to comment on the ranking itself but to tell Pat Forde to die a horrible prolonged death

Lsu will be very good offensively and favored in about 11 games. The question mark I have is on the defensive side of the ball...Matt house is a great coach the question is will the new faces gel in time

Well he also thinks TCU is top 10 after that arse whooping and losing to Kansas State, so don’t get too excited.

I'm sorry but is this the one day of the week LSU fans like Pat Forde and don't call him a fraud?

Las Vegas kind of agrees with him.

Caesars Sportsbook has the Tigers with 5th best odds to win next year's Natty.

I would gather that not one single poster on this board has ever looked to Pat Forde as a sports authority in any capacity whatsoever. Ever.

It’s always funny for these pre season rankings to come out the week after the season is over . We still have the transfer portal , high school and declaring guys that haven’t signed or declared yet . Also spring training. A lot can happen between now and September.

I could see it. I'm not sure I'd go that high, but I could see a good case for all that.

LSU #3: Kelly's clearly a good coach, and in year 1 (a rebuild year) beat Alabama and got to Atlanta. 2023 will return the entire offense, lots of playmakers on defense, will improve overall depth, and a year into his system. Schedule looks like 10-2 basement. Kelly's now familiar first-hand with the weekly grind of the conference (ie Auburn, Arkansas, A&M), and the teams to beat (Bama, UGA).

Penn State #4: went 11-2, with losses to 2 playoff teams (Ohio State and Michigan), both of who are losing key players. This ranking suggests they catch Ohio State, since they're losing Stroud. Doesn't appear to consider the potential meltdown at Michigan.

Washington #5: probably the best QB, and most overlooked Pac 12 team. Not sure what they lose.

I think:
Perkins takes a big step towards playing MLB.
The secondary is returning safeties, looks to be adding plug-and-play corners. Denver Harris from A&M is the most highly touted as a prospect, but might be behind Chestnut and Alexander, at least early. Those guys have plenty of PT already.
The D Line, if Maason Smith returns to what he had been, should be stout.

I also think we're banking on somebody being a good return guy, which was a nightmare last season. We found a 'secure' guy late last year, I think the hope is someone will catch as well but be more explosive.

No Vols in top 10? Silly. We basically beat Clemson with next year’s team.

I foresee another ten wins. I’m only nervous about Bama and Georgia.

Ah it’s Forde. That explains it.

Bama in top 10. He must not know of our deficits on both O and D. Special team will not win the West. Not close.
