What kind of a record did he have against top 20 teams? I mean if he was in the Big 12 or B1G and did similar like OSU then yes he should do well at LSU. I am not so sure from N.D. stand point he didn't really get much out of it and seems to be like OU gets in playoffs and loses big! Maybe a better roster might help. Let wait and see who he hires as the OC and DC.

Saban did it in year 4.
It took Saban an extra year because he had to build the house that Dinardo laid the foundation for.
Like Les and O, Kelly won't have to build the program from the foundation. He just has to Flip it.
