Out of Conference Scheduling

Is it possible to improve the SEC's out of conference scheduling?
If yes, how? What does improvement look like for your individual school?

Hmmm that’s a tough one but we could play more in conference games...

I mean LSU played Miami this year, and is playing Texas next year.

For starters, get rid of the embarrassing week 12 schedule and insert a 9th conference game in its place.
Next get rid of the neutral site openers and move to a home and home.

We just played Xavier, Duke, and Arizona. Still have Dayton and Murray State to go.

Tell that to teams like Bama. LSU schedules tough OOC teams

That's damn solid OOC.

With a 4 team playoff, I’m not sure many teams are going to pack their schedules with 50/50 proposition games.
I think entering an PAC12, ACC or Big10/12 challenge might get some quality matchups scheduled.
A coach might need Alabama St and Liberty to get that bowl game and keep the market rate fans engaged.
In the SEC, if you win your division or go 11-1, the chances of making top 4 are pretty good. Most teams play at least one big OOC game per year. I don’t see teams signing up for Ohio State to open, bringing in Oklahoma for homecoming and play neutral site opener with Clemson.

The irony is the Out Of Conference Scheduling is the only scheduling that your school controls.
What does good out of conference scheduling look like?
I see people proudly posting 1 quality opponent and three home only games.
These same posters probably pick on other teams OOC scheduling despite the similarities (1 marquee matchup per year).

Carolina is playing Clemson, UNC, and AT App. St. (Dumb). That is plenty tough enough. Oh yeah, throw in Georgia and Alabama also.

SEC could say that only your divisional record counts, but you have to schedule 3 cross divisional games rotating home and away. Only one can be permanent. They would be considered OOC games and effect permanent record only.

I like when we play UNC and NC State, State especially. 2022 looks like it’s really going to suck; Georgia State, Charlotte, and Wofford.

Conference wide ban on all games against the FCS would be a great start.

Nope. Bama needs their yearly weak OOC schedule to pad stats.
I vote P5 only.

Louisville, Kansas, Gonzaga, West Virginia , at Memphis

This is just dumb. Louisville sucked this year but when the game was scheduled no one could’ve known that. So Alabama has played since 2008 Clemson, Wisconsin, Florida state, West Virginia, USC, virginia tech and penn state off the top of my head

FCS isn't even the problem in my opinion.
The problem is everyone content with 1 marquee matchup.
When asked, what good teams did you beat... no one starts with the worst team on the schedule and works their way up.
You always start with the best wins (i.e. marquee matchup) and work your way backward.
What would it take for more home and homes OOC?
A home only school by definition is a cupcake (I don't care if it is FCS, FBS, or power 5. Any school willing to visit you without a home return sucks).

Bama could play the Bills and Browns each year and the rant would complain they are not playing tough enough NFL teams
