At home In Austin Little brother Utrans is only 1 game better than 50/50 against Aggie in their own stadium over the last 50 years

Aggies currently hold scoreboard in Austin at DKKKR as well

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves

Based on the leather helmet days…..

Texas University can’t lose!

Such a sterile environment is hard to create a home field advantage in

In what way?

A Georgia fan made the point that Texas has a significant advantage because the game is in Austin

This is a misconception, in the last 50 years they have only won half the games in Austin

Col Sanders you posted a bet that is heavy in your favor. You risked nothing but basically a donation.

I have countered with an even based bet and even. Offered a 10:1 donation. But you still will not accept.

You are acting like a red headed little brother stepchild.

Accept the bet or delete your post. I’m calling you out.

Scholarship limits were a minor factor compared to going from all-male and all-military.

Wasn’t always the case (pre-WWII), but it had become a crippling factor in recruiting talent. We were a glorified Citadel for many, many years.

Being able to offer scholarships just to keep kids from A&M was a huge deal

Austin is actually a great town and a good site for a school like Texas. They fit together well, and there is no hidden slight in my saying that. You also have to respect the history of the program.

“Intimidating and hostile home field advantage”, though, is not something they can hang their Resistols on.

Thank goodness, we'll always have the 1900's (Texas 14-4-2 thru 1910).

Heck, aggies didn't even score on Texas until the ninth time they played.

After that things kind of evened out a bit until the horns went on a streak starting with the 1940 game and it was mostly them till the mid-70's and the A&M happy time from 84 thru 94.

40 - 70s...

WWII
Korean War
Vietnam

The all-military school had more important things to do.

Your post is 100% accurate. Been to 75% of the games in Austin and we are close to 50/50.

Was at the 1990 game when Ags rushed for over 300 and Bucky Richardson scored pretty late. Ags didn’t want a tie and RC went for 2 either Darren Lewis. He was stopped short and Ags lost 28-27. Otherwise we are dead on 50:50 in my lifetime.

Great post Sarge. From 1902 to late 1960s it’s a bit different. Hell Vandy owns Texas before thr 70s. Just a different time.
