I searched, but "Las Ville" is ambiguous. Where are you?
I live in Las Vegas.
You know how shitty towns that end in "ville" change the "ville" into "vegas?"
Manchvegas, Knoxvegas, etc?
Back before Geolocation was big in search engines I used to search for stuff here and get shite there because they think they're clever. I search for "Happy Hour Vegas" and up comes an awesome site for a place with $2 beers, half price appetizers, etc. I click the location thing, and they're in fricking Manchester, NH. It pissed me off.
So, if they don't want the ville, I'll take it.

Yeah, pass on that. The desert stinks.
My business is really close to that park and ride site the guys not fancy enough to ride the Janet Air planes up there park and, well, ride at.
That's a brutal stretch through some nasty land.
I don't dislike the city, I like it. I hate the landscape and the climate. Plop Vegas into the PacNW and I'm the happiest man in the world.

I didn't notice a particularly bad smell

But I definitely get it if your only exposure to the SEC is this place. I'd hate everyone, too.

I want UT to lose every game. I don't care if they are competing in equestrian. I hope they have the laziest horses out there.
I never root for Auburn. It could be a swimming and diving championship and I'd hope they'd finish last. If AU plays UT I root for the sinkhole beneath the stadium.
The rest of the schools I am okay with rooting for depending on recruiting battles. For example there are a lot of recruits that Bama wants that are UF leans this year. A good year from UF could solidify their commitments. Therefore I am hoping for UF to have a very mediocre year.
No offense gators

Most of y'all are too young to remember the beginnings, but long ago most of the rest of the country made fun of our region about all if our traditions, backwardness etc as a region.
This. There was a time when I would have drunk bleach before rooting for Tennessee or Vandy in anything. Then along came ESPN and their talking heads who constantly ridiculed the South.
Suddenly I had 10 teams to root for against outside competition. Adding Arky and SCAR made it even better. When A&M came on board, the despots of the Big 12 became natural enemies.
The crowning glory was when the Big X rejected Mizzou and we nabbed the Tigers. Now there are two SEC schools that border the Big X and do battle with them. I relish every Mizzou win over a Big X team almost as much as when UK beats them. I doubt any other SEC school's fans can understand the hatred most UK fans have for Big X teams.

On the the field, and in here, it's fight like brothers. Out there, in the NCAA universe, we are one...won.

I don't get it, I would never pull for Bama. I know UT is mired in shite right now and it happens to most teams, but I will not live vicariously though my rivals.
Personally, there are a few teams that I really do like and a few that I despise. The ones that I like, it is mainly because I have friends that went there and really do like the schools, meanwhile the teams that I despise is 100% due to the fanbase.
In alphabetical order
1. Alabama
- Worst fanbase I have ever seen in any sport anywhere bar none. Might be because they surround me and I have to deal with them daily.
2. Arkansas
- Never been so I reserve judgment. The few fans I have met seem alright.
3. Auburn
- Alma Mater and my school
4. Florida
- No problems with Florida. I grew up an FSU fan and actually went to the swamp twice with them playing FSU and still enjoyed it.
5. Georgia
- Second favorite school. We make the trip up to Athens every time it is there and have a blast every time.
6. Kentucky
- Again, reserve judgment but the players that I met a few years ago in Nashville were all dickheads and acted like they were hot shite.
7. LSU
- Don't mind them. I have been to Baton Rouge once. We didn't have a great time, didn't feel very welcomed in any of the bars and didn't get the best party town thing. Ended up back in NOLA after the game.
8. Ole Miss
- I actually like Ole Miss, most of the fans were good to us when we went and I liked the campus.
9. MSU
- I want to trash them because Starkville was the worst college town I ever went to but I just feel kind of bad for them.
10. Mizzou
- Welcome to the SEC, never been up there and probably never will but the one or two fans that I have met were good people.
11. SC
- Had a blast in Columbia when we went and South Carolina in general is beautiful. Now that you have OBC, I like you a bit more.
12. UT
- Visited the campus as a senior in high school and didn't like it. never been to a game and never been around many fans of UT either.
13. TAMU
- Didn't make the trip but they had JFF and he was fun to watch.
14. Vandy
- Nashville is a fun town but I have never been for Vandy.

Other than the paycheck why do people do the SEC thing?
I, personally, just want to have better competition. If USC was undefeated all the time while the rest of the conference was shite, it would be a hollow victory. Teams that do this, the Boise States, Louisvilles, Wichita States of the sporting world, put up gaudy win totals, but they don't have any meat to their schedule.
It would be like Carl Lewis constantly winning the Special Olympics. Sure you get a ton of medals, but what's the point?
In the end it's a familial thing. We can argue and fight amongst ourselves, but I'll be damned if I'll cheer on another conference's team whose beating up on my siblings.

And damnit, those Wildcats are fun to watch.

When our rivals win recruiting battles and beat us more often we lose more money in the long run.
Head to head battles are always going to exist. Conference strength means you just have a bigger and better piece of the pie. How many kids dream of "playing in the SEC" across the country now as opposed to five or ten years ago? It's unquestionablly something that has helped all teams. The entire Big 12 had one five staf recruit last year, a kid from California. Every single five star out of Texas went to the SEC(maybe FSU got one too, no idea), but you get the point. I mean if you don't, you're delusional.

The SEC's run in the NCAA tourney this year is further evidence of the conference's domination of college sports. The media's fear of this domination is evident.
The SEC was universally deemed weak even as Florida solidified their hold on the #1 ranking, UT showed major muscle at times all year, UK cranked and sputtered with the "most talented class in history" and the rest of the SEC teams committed cannibalism. All the while, perhaps the best basketball in the country was being played in our conference.
Imagine what will happen when the SECN begins showing this thrilling basketball to the nation in the Fall. SEC basketball will become as ubiquitous as SEC football nationwide.
Baseball will continue to dominate, too. USC, LSU, UGA, MSU and Vandy will now be showcased to the nation.
I pity the other conferences.

You are missing the boat. SEC TV will be seen in the footprint but probably blacked out elsewhere. PTN and BTN are not available outside their respective footprints unless you pay. I don't pay for BTN or PTN so I never see their games.
Better to be on free to the masses than only viewed in your home footprint. Recruiting is still done at the national level and this new committee will ensure the B1G and PAC get free exposure at the national level.
