Not money.

Ole Miss said they'd match any offer. Some reports saying he took less to come to LSU but who knows

He gains a big name school in a state with no real in-state competition for recruits.

If a 4-5* Louisiana recruit gets offers from Tulane, La Tech, U of L or LSU, guess which school he commits to if he wants to stay in-state?

Unless there is some strong family connection to one of the other LA schools or an out of state school, kids in da boot who are good at football only think of LSU.

I can’t discern whether gumps are deep dish melty or stuffed crust melty, but y’all are 100% confirmed melty.

This is a business. What would you gain by taking a better paying job at a better company that tells you they’ll use more resources to help you succeed? What are you mongoloids not understanding?

Ask Nick Saban. He talked to him before taking the job.

As much as I hate to say it , same thing Schloss left for - prestige and recruiting power.

A chance to begin a new dynasty as the older ones are starting to fizzle, lately. You scared?

Lane could’ve stayed at Ole Miss and likely had statues built and streets named after him.

As is, that’s not what appealed to Kiffin. He believes he possesses the ability to step into the highest of pressure cookers and be successful.

Time will tell. Opinions for / against are just that at this point - opinions. No-one KNOWS.

I think with LSUs natural advantages LK has all the plusses in place to be very successful (note: He better put a premium on D and bring along an A+ D-Coordinator because high flying offensive power alone isn’t going to win the SEC most years, much less Natties).

It will be a compelling story to follow. It has a chance to be great and it has a chance to be a disaster.

Time will tell.

There is no "other than..." Its all about the money. You actually think I guy like Kiffin cares about anything else?

That's what I'm saying. Yes, there a huge recruiting advantage in Louisiana. But LSU has better facilities and more money for staffs and portal acquisitions than Ole Miss ever will. It's a much better opportunity to win a NC in Baton Rouge than in Oxford. And if the coaching salary is equal, I know I'd rather go where I can get the players I need to win a NC.

LSU is a better traditional recruiting school.

The problem is traditional recruiting ain’t what it used to be. That is continuing to evolve as well.

So it’s a “we’ll see” atm.

-A stadium that holds more than 70k.
-A talent rich state and being the only school in it.
-One of the biggest brands in college sports.

Just to name a few

If he was going to Alabama would you have the same question?

Out of the top Mississippi high school football players how many have committed to Ole Miss before all this?

It’s not the same you are correct. But it’s still easier to recruit at LSU versus Ole Miss
