I wonder if they make a play for Cole Cubelic for the midday slot? He does a pretty good job on his morning show in Huntsville and he is making a name for himself with other radio guest slots (including on Roundtable) and his SECN sideline coverage

im putting my money on this

I was thinking the same thing about Cole a few months ago. Gotta think jumping to Birmingham is a no brainer if the family is down for the move.

Edit: Just looked at his show's twitter, first thing on the feed is a poll on the best HBO show. Would fill the old roundtable slot nicely.

It's new format somewhat starts Monday.
The 10-2 slot has not been created. For a while it will be replays of the morning show.

I am actually ok with the change. I didnt mind Jay or Al - but Tony K was a self important a-hole.

back in the day when I worked for the Barons here in Bham, he came to the gates and pulled the "do you know who i am" card, to get in free.

can't stand the guy

Tony Kurre pulling the “do you know who I am?” card at a Barons game might be the most Birmingham thing I’ve ever heard. The only thing more Birmingham than that would be Taylor Hicks concert at the Galleria.

Aww, you don't like Doug Amos & Chollie Trotman? McKnight/Longshore get irritating as hell in the early show. Their callers don't bother me too much, it's that idoiot Ray Boles/P'ville Carpet that grates on my nerves.

People in Birmingham don't realize how lucky they've been with sports radio. Even at it's worst, WJOX and the sports shows on other stations has been better sports talk radio than you will encounter in most cities. Well, except maybe during that brief period about 15 years ago when they wedged the ESPN programming into midday with Jim Rome and the Sports Babe, but other than that, it's been better than almost anywhere.

Take it to the the small market radio board. 90% of us do not care about a small radio station in Alabama

I completely agree with this. Having listened to quite a bit of Atlanta, Denver, and DFW talk radio, even the Roundtable is preferable to almost anything from those places. The best thing is the absence of NBA talk and endless NFL talk. I honestly dont understand how white people can get fired up about the NBA unless they are gamblers.

I used to listen to RoundTable a good bit. At my desk or driving around at lunch. It has done well in any timeslot they've put it in. It took the 2-6 slot when Finebaum was in hiatus, and I wish they had kept it there. I also liked the Matt and Scott Show. It was a nice change of pace after work.
