Here is an old story about the same kid and it gives a little detail about Les Miles relationship with him

you might bitch about his coaching, but there is no denying that
Les is an extremely high quality human being.
Simply the best

I hate his game management skills but I love the fact he has compassion. Love this pic!

Sometimes I truly believe LSU fans are spoiled. He is the 2nd best coach in the SEC and in the top 5 as a whole in CFB.
I've always liked him and would trade for him in an instant.
Enjoy him LSU fans. He has his 'moments' but he's a helluva guy and a helluva coach.
My thoughts are with this young man and his family. A very bright day for him in, what I'm sure, has been a sea of not so great days.
and to echo others; frick cancer. Took my daddy and hit my mom as well.

I am glad this kind of story is shared here. I think it reminds us what is more important than sports.
Les Miles is a heck of a man regardless of his accomplishments or failures as a coach.
So tough to see that young man's face knowing what he is facing.

Pretty much puts things into perspective. Prayers for him and his family. Big thank you for coach Les Miles.

All my friends that live in Mountain Brook have had this as their profile picture last football season and this football season -
And the whole town is covered in purple and gold for him.
