Looks like 3 for Ole Miss instead of 4. Uh oh.

OM was the 12th team, and 2nd highest rated sec team.

He thinks that because Ole Miss was NY6 in 2015 that means they would've made a 12 team playoff that year

Started with 2014 year and Ole Miss #9 in final CFP rankings??

But what if the 12-team model had been in effect all along? Don’t forget, the future format has rules: (1) the six highest-ranked conference champions get automatic berths;

I can't fricking wait for a team like OM or Mizzou to get that last spot in the playoffs while LSU is team #13. This board will provide weeks of entertainment.

They'd be in it this year, but not LSU, if the other conferences hadn't blocked the expansion.

4 SEC teams...

I look forward to seeing some new SEC teams in the expanded playoff next year and I know the folks at Ole Miss and a few other schools will be really happy if and when they make it.

It’s gotta be pretty demoralizing to know that no matter what your program does they’ll never even sniff a championship. Enjoy your forever 10 win ceiling

OP doesn't know Ole Miss wouldn't have made the playoffs in 2015.

only 1 sec team making it in 2015, not happening, one of the 3 acc teams would have been bumped out.

OM would have played been matched up on Bama side, probably against Stanford. Rematch against Bama the second game of the playoffs would have been a huge game. Instead we got 38-0 arse whipping of Mich State by Bama.

So for now we have to go with Top 12 in the poll. 2015 OM teams beats 9 of the 12 teams in your link.

I do not know how more simple this can be

Since the start of the College Football Playoff and the 6 bowls that make up the games (NY6), Ole Miss has been in 4 of them.

And you made the mistake of assuming that meant you would've made a 12 team playoff all 4 years.

Houston would’ve gotten that spot as top G5

Yeah, that hurts. Fricking Hugh Freeze and 4 and 25.

Letting teams convert huge 4th downs to dramatically reshape post season play is his fetish

Depends on how the rules change, you can make that argument. Houston was in the Peach Bowl in the year you mentioned. TCU was the team that got screwed.

Same way Ole Miss would have been screwed this year, had FSU made it into final four. If all bowl contracts with conferences are dropped, then 12 team will work better.

Give it a year or two until the G5 loop hole is kicked out, it will happen. Whomever plays the G5 is going to get a much easier path, than the team playing #11.

He just said in another thread that he expects Ole Miss to make the new CFP at least 50% of the time.

I mean Kiffin would be at 50% clip through 4 years had we been having a 12 team playoff all along so I don't see what the problem is.
