State has played Delta State a lot of times over the years (and probably Ole Miss, too). State has a 32-9 record against them, the last game in 1997. I think both had to stop when the NCAA started using RPI because DIvision 2 Delta State wouldn't count in the numbers (or count as a really bad RPI number, like #300+).

Which is both a shame and messed up. Good D1 schools will play the likes of Valley, Alcorn, etc.(very poor D1 schools) and DSU is better than those any day. There should be some sorta way to adjust the RPI for the better D2 teams so a DSU-Ole Miss matchup could still happen.

Sexton is rh. He's more of a finesse pitcher than hudson... He'll thrown upper 80s/lower 90s and best pitch is a change up. He'll throw change up to lh or rh hitters in any count. Sexton is a good pitcher, but you'll score today

best pitch is a changeup, huh...if the game plays out like the season so far, we will strike out a whole bunch too. we struggled mightily with the gamecock pitchers that changed speeds. oh well, im looking forward to this afternoons game. MUST WIN

Great game last night.

Today's game is huge for both teams. Ya'll need to get off of a losing streak, and we need to at least get a series win. I fully expect State to lose on Sunday as our third weekend pitcher really hasn't solidified as yet.

Should be a lot more runs today.

I agree. I have ties to Delta State and enjoyed seeing them play State and Ole Miss. I also wish there was a way to adjust RPI to let them play.

Speaking of, I've said before that there should be some sort of maximum when playing bad RPI teams, like every team worse than #150 is treated the same. For a Top 30 team, beating the #150 team is just as easy as beating the #300 team, but the #300 team kills the RPI. (It's even more true in basketball than baseball).

Also the current RPI adjustments in home/away wins and losses are too far in either direction. It's not realistic and skews the RPI too much. It's something like 1.5 for each home win and only .7 for each home win.

Hudson is projected to be the number one pick in the major leasgue draft,

He's a great pitcher and will go in the first round.

But in all the mock drafts I've seen he's not top 5.

The top pick will be some combination of in most projections

the Louisville outfielder Ray

I will defer to your information. I just heard matt wyatt on head to head sports radio mention that dak was projected as the #1 pick. he went on to explain why his skill set made him so...in any event, we were handcuffed by an elite college pitcher last night, of that there is no argument.

This thread has gotten too civil.

Dawgs and their fat, redneck, trailer trash fans can eat their own tiny dicks. They are little brother obsessed inbreds who worship woman beating neanderthals and are led by a Yankee, hunchback, Scientologist.

frick State. That's all.

Speaking of the Egg Bowl, is there any chance the game gets played on Thanksgiving ever again?

After Nkemdiche literally splattered Dak's shite all over national TV last year, I'm not sure ESPN considers it appropriate for a family oriented holiday broadcast.

Maybe if you guys can start making it more competitive, there will be more interest.
