Heard "built a wall around Memphis" in recruiting. We never got any Memphis kids....

Thornton was basically fired this year.

How’s that? Didn’t you guys have a pretty good OL?

They could run block but were swish cheese on pass blocking. We couldn't 5 step drop against anyone. Judkins also made that O Line look a lot better than what it actually was.

You're thinking of Maurice Harris.

Heard is a good guy/coach. Thornton was likely getting replaced as our pass protection was absolute garbage despite 3 returning starters. He's still young though and seemed to be an okay recruiter, but didn't land any studs while here.

Aigamaua is also a good guy but he wasn't an on field coach at Ole Miss so no real feedback on him except that he is very personable and engaged in recruiting.

Yeah, most football programs get rid of productive OL coaches and basically fire them, but not really fire them.

He told everyone bye at the team hotel the night before the egg bowl. Was heavily emotional. Take it how you will...

Hoooollllyyyy shite.

I was half-joking when I originally said Freeze would frick y'all in coordinators, but if he truly is just bringing over the staff he had at the end of his tenure at OM then y'all are truly and royally fricked.

Crimedog is a fricking disaster.

I saw somewhere that there is "real smoke" around Phil Longo as the OC.

Grant Heard under-utilized so much WR talent it's criminal.

Oh man...this is gonna be fantastic.

Yeah well he was gone regardless and was crying and telling everyone bye the Wednesday night before the Egg Bowl. So you can believe what you want but he was most likely gone from OM regardless.

There might be. Drake Maye has been rumored to be entering portal in the next few days. If Maye is on the fence then I could see Longo making an exit.

When's Batoon set to arrive?

Good dbacks coach, horrible DC. Is that what you know? As others have said, our oline run blocking was good and our pass blocking was terrible. Should have been a strength of the team. Glad Thornton is going. Who is your offensive coordinator going to be? If it's Longo, you will be in the shotgun every play but will throw a lot of short passes.

Please let them experience Longo Ball. It is Air-Raid with draw plays, and a lot of QB draws. It makes Gus look like Einstein in the Redzone.

It will put up a billion yards between the 20s but settle for a lot of field goals against bad defenses. Good defenses shut it down completely.

Heard is a good guy and decent recruiter. Under utilized the WR talent while he was at OM.

Not much to say on Aigamaua as he wasn't in a on-the-field position.

Thornton came from Gardner-Webb and had zero OL development and very poor pass blocking at his first and only year at OM. He wasn't going to have a job after the season so I'm glad Auburn picked him up.

Thorton was told he was being let go, so it's good to see that Auburn hired him. Life of coaches have to be hard.

Not clue about Aigamaua. TE coach?

Crimedog is a likable guy, and good secondary coach. Hugh isn't making him the DC, is he? He did that the last season he was at Ole Miss and man...that defense was total trash. Freeze also hired Phil "Just run somewhere and get open" Longo as OC.

Heard - Grant Heard? Is Freeze trying to re-assemble that 5-7 staff? LOL

He is and it is hilarious. I can't wait to watch it burn.

Nix has turned them down once already it sounds like.

Can’t imagine he’s got a ton of connections at the moment?

That's always been one of the biggest knocks on Freeze. He can't assemble a staff because of either poor connections or no one wants to work with him.

He had a Sun-Belt level staff at OM and now he's bringing that exact staff to the plains.
