It's a common misconception, believe it or not.

I know most of the ones at Stennis who tested every shuttle engine and the new even more powerful SLS engines are mostly State grads. Several at the Michoud Assembly Plant in Chalmette too.

Sorry pal, we have a bowl game. And a future. Your crappy program has a NCAA boom hanging over its head and a coach that looks like a woodchuck cheating his way to a 5-7 season.

I was always under the impression that the aerospace engineers were mostly from other areas outside of the Southeast. Wouldn't surprise me that some were/are state grads.

I remember helping a doctor from Ole Miss once a couple weeks ago and he was on the phone discussing one of his patients with his buddies, basically making jokes about him. I asked him if that was legal, because I didn't think doctors could discuss patients with anyone (aside from fellow doctors, etc) and he just looked at me with a blank stare before saying, "Is it illegal? I don't think it is".

quote:May or may no be illegal. Depends on whether or not he released individual identifiable information about the patient. If the buddy was another provider, then he might have had a need to know which makes it perfectly acceptable within HIPAA guidelines. Joking is at the very least unprofessional but not in and of itself illegal.

In reality Ole Miss likes to think of itself as the "Ivy League" school of the SEC, when the truth is that it is more kudzu than true ivy.

quote:That's perfectly legal as long as there's no personally identifiable information released to someone who doesn't have a qualifying need to know. I'm a clinical professional and I can talk about patients all day long with people who have nothing to do with caring for those patients as long as they can't be identified from the info I'm discussing. But I can't give out details that could lead to the patients being identified.
