Not for Ole Miss. Might as well retire Brandon Boldon's number then. He won 2 Super Bowls with the Patriots.

I look back at that game with sadness and not rage. It was a really good game even if it ended badly for us.
Now the 2014 Auburn game, frick that shite. That's the game where Ole Miss lost the party.

And Eli is better than Burrough. As a player and a person.
Ken Burrough was a pretty good wide receiver back in his day. Why are you trying to compare him to Manning?

He should have won it too. Who the frick remembers who Jason White is these days?
Jason White had unbelievable numbers.

Should’ve been Larry Fitzgerald’s heisman. Jason White had the feel good story.

I'm surprised this hadn't already been done?

I listed 3 hypotheticals that could have easily gone the other way. And Eli is better than Burrough. As a player and a person.
Here’s another hypothetical....
If Eli’s spoiled arse didn’t demand a trade because he was too chickenshit to play for the Chargers.

I always wondered why Ole Miss put Eli under center and not in shotgun on that play. There's no way he could have gotten a better look at the defense and what they were running while under center.

Might as well retire them all at this point.
The NCAA would have to allow triple digits on uniforms before Alabama can retire jerseys.

I think the Mannings knew enough that Charger ownership was super shitty and had enough say to get Eli elsewhere. Who wouldn't do the same for their son if they had the ability to?

Archie spent his entire career eating shite on a poorly run team. He wasn't letting that happen to his son.

Pretty sure Elway did the same thing.
Also Eli had fricking no one on his teams worth a shite other than a couple Olinemen.

For anyone still wondering why Eli's number is being retired, take a look at his short list...
1. SEC Offensive Player of the Year
2. First Team-All SEC
3. Maxwell Award winner (nation's top player)
4. Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner (nation's top QB)
5. Set numerous school records (45)
6. Drafted No. 1 overall
7. Name is Manning

A well timed Recrootin' ploy to sign Arch Manning in '22 or whenever he comes out

Guess they're doing it due to all of those national championship squads that he led while at Ole Miss..
Statistically, he's the best QB in school history.
