Ole Miss has a lot of asian students and a decent amount of study abroad programs in Asia. So this doesn't really surprise me.

An American college degree is worth serious bucks in Asia. Most Asian students wind up going to college on the West Coast but its so damn expensive there and California is actually trying to cut back on their Asian college students because they have too many.
Its why you see more and more Asians (Malays, Indians, Chinese, Koreans, and a few Japanese mostly) going to Southern colleges. The tuition (and cost of living) is quite a lot cheaper and we are thrilled to have them. Not to mention, having known quite a few Asian students, they love how much more friendly Southerners are.
I imagine most, if not all, SEC schools are rolling out the red carpets for oversea students.

Work in a lab at Mississippi State. We have a similar deal with a Chinese University where they send Master's students to work in our labs and practice genetic sequencing and such.

I met a few chinese who were going to Arkansas when I had a stop in LAX. Wonder what the numbers are for each SEC school.

The ironic, sadly that is, thing about the link you provided is the article beneath it.
In that article's image preview, it has Ole Miss students laid out on the concrete protesting police violence.
That's a laugher. A school full of students who don't mind being associated with the most brutal, deadly, and chillingly evil police force in the known world, the Chinese, hardly have any real problem with so called American police violence.
