I think a lot of us were fooled. But the last few weeks have come around that the whole thing was to benefit Lane. Like always.

All of these guys are narcissists. You almost have to be to coach under the level of scrutiny you deal with in the SEC.
Thats why the whole “less pressure at ole Miss” thing never made sense to me. The minute he signs a 15 million dollar contract in Oxford the expectation changes. You don’t make a coach the highest paid in the country to go 9-3 and occasionally be a playoff contender.

Sounds like Lane has already let them know basically so they can prepare for the future at Ole Miss. Announcement after Miss State game. It was good that Lane didn't leave Ole Miss hanging so they can find a new coach.

And why shouldn't Lane take advantage of his opportunities? I didn't see anyone feeling bad for him when he showed his loyalty to USC. He left a great job at Tennessee when they came calling and coached them through their years when recruiting was handcuffed due to NCAA violations and was then promptly cast aside and had to go back to being an assistant coach.
It's not like this business isn't a two way street. People don't want Lane to "mess up" a great season, well you don't get offers when you are having a bad season, so that is a moot point.
When we had Spurrier coaching the team there were always NFL rumors and it used to piss me off because FSU always had great teams but no one in the NFL wanted Bowden.
I have said this ad nauseum, but Rebs let me tell you the one saving grace is going to be Florida hiring the Mississippi State Athletic director that will be our undoing. He couldn't hire a sack of shite for a stinking job.

He should. But there is a difference in quietly going through you agent talking to other schools and not referencing it in public.
But spending 2 weeks tweeting home emoji's and #velvetDitch multiple times while everyone knows you are talking to UF, then leaving Oxford is major arse hole territory.

People are getting worked up about nothing. I just want to concentrate on football. However, ignoring this has become impossible because it's the only thing mentioned. I think what irritates Ole Miss fans the most is simply how it is all being handled.
