Was talking to someone that I know that pointed this out to me......pretty telling where Oklahoma wants to go.

This is not the only way OU has expressed their desire for Big Ten membership. The following is a list of the 20 schools that OU has selected as their academic peers:

Indiana
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Purdue
Illinois
Iowa
Michigan
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Iowa State
Kansas State
Oklahoma State
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Colorado
Kansas
Missouri
Nebraska
Texas

Oklahoma isn't AAU, so no B10 for them.

It is easier for athletes to qualify at 0U than at SEC schools.

Which is all that matters as far as this board goes.

Oklahoma's academics would be the laughingstock of the Big 10. It's SEC or bust for them. Too bad they won't get it.

And they're stuck to Okie State as long as T Bone Steak is alive.

Not a single southern school on that list.

They could get in - but not with okie light. That's their anchor right now, to any power conference.

The fact they feel comparable to IU, Michigan, and Wisconsin is comedy. Their reputation does not succeed them whatsoever... and I'd compare them to the likes of West Virginia, Ole Miss, and LSU.

No offense to my SEC brethren.

They can't get in the B10 regardless of Oklahoma State. AAU membership is required.

Check again. Nebraska is not AAU.

All 6 Public schools in B1G Western Division Teams (Northwestern is Private) are listed as OU peers (20 Peers total)

Yeah, the small population and TV following hurts them more.

Their state is already split with a decent size faction to OSU and smaller ones to Tulsa.

They would like see their Texas following hook their bandwagons to raider rash or the frogs.

I realize this is old (2011), but it confirms what most of us have been saying. I wonder if we have reached this point? I noticed this article was referenced by Mike Davis on the previous article "Oklahoma's Big Ten Agenda:

A source with direct knowledge of Oklahoma's situation told ESPN.com, "Splitting with Oklahoma State would be challenging politically and not necessarily desirable but not impossible if it meant protecting the long-term best interests of Oklahoma."

OU is delusional with that academic peer list. The best thing they can do is to nut up and win their conference.

I can think of 3 SEC schools right now that would blackball OU from the SEC, and who would come in with them?

Just can't see the existing SEC schools settling for a smaller piece of pie, and a lowered academic rating for the conference, which is what would happen.

They were an AAU member when they got in. They then lost their AAU status after joining.

One of the colleges that selected us as a peer (we didn't reciprocate) was "University of Phoenix - Memphis campus"

What? I'm sorry, let me phrase it more accurately...What the frickity frick frick?

Also, Oklahoma appears to be delusional. Not the harmless "ol' crazy Uncle Okie, trying to get his cousin to have sex with him!" type of delusional, the dangerous "Crap, Uncle Okie is hitting on girls that are so far out of his league that they have bodyguards converging to beat the hell out of him!" type of delusional.

They were when the B10 invited them in 2010 before getting kicked out of the AAU in 2011.
