The schedule release illuminated one thing brightly: tradition be damned, neutral site games in conference are a massive hinderance in the new landscape of things. UF, UGA, TX & Ok are giving up a ton every year with that extra road game.

Well, the Vols were on the schedule and it had to be cancelled, obviously. Oh, and by the way:

Teams playing at least 10 Power 5 opponents in 2023:

Big Ten 13 of 14
Big 12: 11 of 14
Pac-12: 10 of 12
ACC: 10 of 15
SEC: 2 of 14

Fine in the end? You mean like they were against UGA in the Rose Bowl? Lol

I do remember. When OU only beats Mizz 73% of the time, we'll take a loss here and there. Of course, that was only your second win in the last 20 games, so statistically you were quite over due.

OU's schedule ended with Big 12 teams. Kansas, Kansas State, Texas Tech, TCU and Baylor send shivers of fear down SEC teams back

There is the reason why OU is good at the end.

Hookem it’s a new day for both of youz guys. You could easily turn in to Kentucky or Miss St within this juggernaut. There’s no layups and injuries will test your depth like never before. Should be fun to watch.

You LSU fans are really dumb… you do realize we have scheduled in the last 25 years probably top 10 ooc and in 2024 we had UGA scheduled ….. it was a nice try though !

That maybe true but the conference schedule for OU was a joke. While some of the SEC OOC schedules were easy, the conference schedule is no joke.

OU will see up close and personal

No doubt. That is arguably the roughest schedule you could draw up. Or top 3 at the least.

Luckily, we should have better players and better depth this year, and even more in 2024. One guy nobody knows much about could emerge to be the next Burrow/Mayfield. He's a true freshman this year, and the likely starter in 2024.

It was actually Tennessee in 2024. UGA was 2023.

And you notice how no one ever wants to address things like why only 2 SECSECSEC teams will play 10 Power 5 opponents while the other conferences do.

At least 10 Power 5 opponents in 2023:

Big Ten 13 of 14
Big 12: 11 of 14
Pac-12: 10 of 12
ACC: 10 of 15
SEC: 2 of 14

They just don't like having to say it's to protect their win/loss record to pump up the mediocrity in the league and beat their chests about how good UGA and Bama are.

OU fans have zero idea what they’re in for coming to Baton Rouge year 1.

Some good food and drink, some good fans, some nimrod fans, too many tiger bait yells to the face before, during, and after the game?
