It’s objectively false the Big XII was a better conference than the SEC from 2000-2010. What an outrageous claim.

Oklahoma, Texas, Texas tech, Mizzou, and Nebraska were better than sec teams top to bottom during that decade.

I've been watching Oklahoma games from last year, studying their roster.

Blows my mind that you have done this for the past 25 years, which has been full of nothing but disappointment and pain.

OU first road game in the SEC is Jordan-Hare.

From 2000-2010, that's a fact. There was more parity in the B12, but it was a superior conference to the SEC in that era.

Even Kansas State, who beat USC's 2002 team, while AP#14 Auburn couldn't get it done in Week 1.

The SEC was 20-15 against the big 12 from 2000 to 2010 so you are wrong. Also, the 247 team talent composite rankings back that as well.

You are delusional. OU isn't near as good as you think. The big 12 sucks arse and your last national championship was only two years after our last one. You are going to find out the hard way on September 21st.

Looks like we should just go ahead and forfeit, it being a total mismatch and all.

Please don’t, the lack of a full schedule could hurt the metrics

Tennessee has a very tough road game at NC state then has to turn around and go to Norman for a night game in a game they’ve circled all year

It could get ugly for Tennessee

Sampson often saw the bench because he’s terrible at blocking. Hopefully he has improved there. Our secondary is going to get beat, but theirs might too.
Going to be a hostile environment for our young QB. Heupel wants this one. Need our defense to put pressure on their QB. I expect a close game. If Nico can handle the pressure, VOLS 38 - 31. If not… OU 41 - 24 and a long season incoming.

You really like to cling to conference smack, so look at it this way - in a few short years, Oklahoma (and Texas) will build you an even bigger S E C float to ride through cyberspace on.

[quote]Before 2003/2004 the sec was Bama and Tennessee, nobody else was elite. OU has played Texas, Nebraska, and Colorado/Texas A&M/Colorado perennially for decades and decades. The big 12 from 2000-2010 was better than the sec top to bottom and it’s not a question. OU is twice the program TN is historically and there’s no excuses you can come up with that takes away from that.[/quote} even in the early 2000s and 90s the SEC was miles ahead of the big 12. Big 12 has never had the depth of the SEC. Compare a trip to OK ST to Auburn. There’s no comparison

You have no clue how rowdy an Oklahoma State crowd gets when OU or Texas comes to town. Crowd is right on top of the team as there is no room on the side lines. People beating on the side of the wall with paddles. People throwing turkey legs. Cheerleaders trying to trip your players. Dudes stabbing the bass drum in your band. It is no picnic in Stillwater if they don't like you.

I won't knock Auburn.... but when I watch their games I see a bunch of frat boys wearing orange jackets and blue ties and a bunch of people shaking orange and blue poms in the stands? I guess they yell really loud?

I would be shocked if it’s half as loud as Auburn or some of the other big places. I could be wrong because I’ve never been

Stillwater is a great venue and loud but let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be in the top 10 of SEC environments

Auburn is loud AF

Jordan Hare holds more people but when they get those paddles going in Stillwater, that's a whole different thing, and the crowd is directly on top of you because it's designed to be that way.

that’s my entire point. The SEC is loaded with places like that
