I dont think anyone, including media, are saying LSU would be the best team of all time. they are saying we would have the most impressive season and resume of any team in the BCS era (in terms of ranked wins, who we beat, and margin of victory)
of course this is all assuming we win on Jan 9

You have to play the hand you're dealt. Some of yall are claiming to be the GOAT. As of right now, there's no way to support that given the accomplishments of past teams. As I said in the OP, which every single one of you neglected to comment on or see. There is no doubt this is probably the greatest Lsu team of all time and they've achieved a great deal. But simmer down a bit and see how the post season plays out before proclaiming something that isn't so at this point.

Everyone knows that will be a tough thing to do, but if we do then we could be considered one of GOAT.

for the record, I don't think even with a win that this LSU team will be the GOAT in terms of talent, but there is no fricking doubt they will be the most ACCOMPLISHED team of all time, which is quite a compliment to Bama, as part of that would have been due to beating such a good Bama team twice.

By the way Im still pissed at yall for screwing up what could have been our biggest claim to fame Being the SEC champs and beating the PAC12 Big East and Big 12 champs in one season. I think that is really what the media is jumping on by calling it the best season of all time. If you beat the champions of 3 of the 5 other BCS conferences that is truly a national champion. As it is we beat 2 of 5 and had to play the 2nd best team twice

2 top 10 teams vs 4 top 10 teams. interedasting. why didn't op include a stat for top-10 wins?
also.. this team isn't shite yet. that won't be determined until january. if they can pull out a win in the BCS title game, very few teams will have accomplished what this squad did. I'll mention them as "a GOAT" and not "the GOAT", but that's just my opinion. certainly they should be mentioned next to '01 miami.
