I was about 5-6 when she passed but my mom’s mom had Alzheimer’s for a very long time. Something like 20 plus years. My grandpa quit his business and devoted his entire life to taking care of her. Even when he had to put her in a home he would go sit with her all day everyday. He suddenly died of a heart attack in 85. She kept on til 95-96.


I can remember going to visit her but I’m not sure I really knew who it was. She was like vegetable. I was afraid to give her a hug. I regret that silly shite everyday.


When I was around one my mom me and my aunt were up visiting. At this point she was very non verbal. My mom must have been feeding/burping me because she was patting my back she said. All of a sudden grandma sat up in bed and yelled at her to stop hitting me. It was apparently the first time she communicated like that in years.

Well I’m gonna go cry now.

If it’s a “rehab” facility you might as well just put them in the back shed and forget. Both my parents spent a short while in one of these and it was god awful. My dad said he would eat a bullet before going back there.

Assisted living is different but they do cost an arm and a leg. In short there’s no really good way to take care of elderly family unless you can devote your life to them. Even at home sitters are suspect.

Mom passed on but I’m nervous about the future with my dad.

Never help them with their investigation. Police officers are not your friends.

I would hate to refuse a breathalyzer in Louisiana though. The dmv is so fricked up. Even if the court dismisses you of any wrong doing I will guarantee that the dmv will still screw up your license.

I’m dealing with them right now on my last dwi and it’s a mess. The state is completely inept.

While I’m all about wiping out the cartels this just seems like an impossible feat. Wouldn’t other people just step up and take their place?
