Well, maybe Shaun Wade should be careful what he wishes for.

Ohio State has too much history and is too damn talented for this stuff. It’s probably mostly fans, but looking for disrespect to get psyched? Come on.

I don't believe the players and coaches buy into that crap at all. They're just looking to prepare and execute. I think the two programs are run in very similar fashions these days.

If they don’t get intimidated and show up playing like they did vs Clementine.

That team looked unstoppable...

Definitely possible. Glad our team is going to play though and not opt/coward out.

Agreed - I respect the hell out of Ohio State's program. The unrivaled decades of consistency through multiple coaches is incredible.

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones on Ohio State's defense: “They have great players. Not a super-complicated scheme, but it doesn't have to be, because they have great players ... it's going to be the best defense we've played this year.”

zOMG! I can't believe Mac said this

That's going to be the matchup. Why should he shy away from it? What do you want him to say? "Oh god, let me cover anyone but him."

The Ohio vs The World narrative is not referring to just Ohio State ...That kinda started with LeBoob James and the Cavs when they were reaching the finals every year . LeQueen in all his drama stirred that up ..now its just overflowed into Buckeyes Browns Indians ( sorry ,the New Cleveland Baseball Club) ,etc...

A large portion of our fanbase is the most insecure fanbase in America and looks for disrespect in everything.

Of course, a lot of the SEC fans that call in are cringe worthy as well.

Shaun Wade can't cover Devonta. No one can, especially one on one.

If you had to say there's a weak ling in the defense for Alabama where is it?

For Ohio State the DBs are not at the level they were at last year. Plus the ILB Tuf Borland still doesn't have the speed he had before his achilles injury last year. I thin k most Ohio State fans breathe a sigh of relief when Justin Hilliard comes in. Hilliard only played 34 snaps against Clemson but he was extremely disruptive.

For the DBs it isn't really the coverage. It's not being physical enough at the LOS and taking poor angles or overrunning that can turn a shorter gain into a longer gain.

I would have felt comfortable with Okudah or Denzel Ward or Lattimore on him but those guys are gone. The lack of spring practice, summer workouts, training camp and 6 additional games has really hurt the development of the new guys. Wade was a nickel last year and he just doesn't have the reps at boundary corner that are needed IMO.

That said, in 2014 Ohio State had a guy named Doran Grant who did a damned good job on Amari Cooper so there's hope. I hope. lol
