Admission Rate

Most useless category ever. So many schools pad their stats.

As in these same stats but for the students after the first year. Many schools have a significant amount of first year drop outs and second year enrollees/transfers.

Admission rates are very misleading and a worthless static. They only way those numbers mean anything is if they show the average ACT stats for those who were denied admissions.

The other issue is there are a large number of instate students who are accepted into Bama on a "Special Admission" waiver. The school does not include them on their reported stats. Right now Bama is fighting to keep the in-state population near 50%, without those Special entries it would be impossible.

You have never, not once, provided any sort of evidence to support this claim. If UA was doctoring reported stats it would be a scandal of the highest order.

Except they aren't. Check the breakdown of instate vs oos posted earlier.

Im not sure why UA's academic improvement threatens you so much, but it is really pathetic how you try so hard to disparage a school you have zero connection to. You try to run down Alabama in literally every thread on this topic.

Why would it be. All these stats are self-reported. There are not any federal/state regulations that require that data. Most of it is for the purpose of Public Relations.

This is totally not true. Alabama's OOS student population is currently at 65% and has been growing for years. If they were fighting to keep in-state student levels at 50% then why the hell have they allowed the OOS population to grow exponentially in the last decade?

Irons is just full of shite. He has concocted this conspiracy because he can't come to terms with the fact that UA is better than it has ever been and getting better every year.

Because they wanted the University's population to be above 32K. They knew that the State could not support those numbers without having to water down the curriculum. They are now banking on keeping those OOS numbers .

This just came out today. I do not put much into those rankings, but you Bammers seem to believe them:

So they aren't fighting to keep the in-state population at 50%?

The OOS numbers are high and I'm sure UA is banking on it continuing, OOS tuition is more than twice in-state.

Alabama's doing alright academically, athletically, and financially right now. It's bigger and better than I've ever seen. I seriously have no complaints with UA right now.
