Panel Notes:

quote:

Hope springs eternal for Bama. We return a defense that saved our bacon on multiple occasions last year & added a couple important pieces from the portal. Our offense is a giant question mark. If our OL can be better than Swiss cheese and our receivers don’t lead the league in drops, we’ll be a very dangerous team. A national contender? Hard to say. That depends on a young but dynamic QB & how quickly he can adjust to SEC play, and whether or not our OL can protect him. Can we average more yards rushing than the typical member of the SECRant sitting at home on their couch? If those pieces come together, look out. 8-4 is squarely on the table, but so is 11-1.

Playoffs or bust. We should have a stout defense, an improved and revamped OLine, and playmakers at QB and WR. We should be 5 and 0 heading into a tough 4 game stretch where we need to go at worst 2-2. 3-1 would be optimal to keep Auburn from having an opportunity to keep us out of the playoffs.

heartbreak - Mississippi State

UK = New coach, a New Hope

Arkansas - Biggest strength may be at QB. MAY be. KJ Jackson was named starter, he showed some nice glimses last year in the backup role. DLine may also surprise

Alabama's biggest weakness, or unknown, is the offensive line. Only one starter returns from 2025 and they hired a new OL Coach. Can this unit get a push in the running game and can they hold up against the pass rush? Time will tell.

Texas should make the playoffs, and may compete for SEC title.

Florida gators 7-5 to 9-3

To make ole miss irrelevant again

LSU - There's going to be excitement for sure with Kiffin leading the team now. I think it may take a few weeks for all the new pieces to mesh and that in turn will lead to some early season losses, but I think LSU finishes strong.

Atm bleak

Mizzo ok

A&M- Unknown how OL will gel with 4 new starters. Unproven DL other than northwestern kid that looks 35 years old

Top 3 the same for both polls - bottom is very different, but at this point, it’s really hard to say…

Ole Miss may wind up being better, but starting the season, it’s really hard to rank them higher

Week one votes certainly include historical bias, and that MAY NOT be fair, but it’s the reality

LSU has better national championship odds than the other two so why’s it funny?

Yeah, tough to rank the #1 team in the SEC last year higher than 5th when they return everyone including a proven playoff winning coach.

Congrats on beating Georgia in the playoffs

UGA was the number 1 team in the SEC last year (with an SEC Championship to prove it)

If only we had an opponent that both coaches were head coach for last season to compare...

Would you rather play in the Semis for a shot at the natty or win an SECCG? Don’t twist what I said.
