I expect neither offense to do a whole lot to the other's defense. We speak of Hurts and Watson until we are blew in the face, but it is the defenses that got the two teams where they are. I am going Bama 24 and Clemson 10.

I just want to see a good game. Very view teams other than mine would I root for to win the natty.
My question is though...What's up with the 'TM' in the thread title?? Joke or actually required?? Ha.

that's not really the case for Clemson. gave up 35 to Va tech, 43 to Pitt, i believe 35 plus to FSU ahd Lville. much of the scoring came on big chunk plays similar to Alabama last year. all these teams have some players on offense tho.
kind of silly to say Watson and offense isn't big reason for Clemson being in the natty.

Watson also has a lot of experience and has been there before. Hurts had played like a seasoned veteran. He is about to have 1000 times more pressure on him than he ever imagined. Cant blame him if he pisses his pants but i doubt he will. Bama wins easily. same prediction as last year.

you have a lot more confidence in a team that only scored 10 points on LSu and didn't look that good on offense against washington.
watson is one of the best college QBs i've seen since i started following it in 95. bama has obviously nto seen a QB as talented as Watson this year. it is easier to shut down more 1-dimensional teams on offense.
if the same team at bama was at another school, i think most people would say Clemson wins by at least 14 points. i think it is saban / sec bias.

It's not going to be close this time.
45-13 Bama
45-13 Bama

This is a tough one to predict by anyone. Bama improved on D, but Clemson improved O. For all the talk about Clemson's defense improvement, they do give up more points per game avg than Bama. Watson no doubt Heisman caliber but he will still throw above avg interceptions now and then. I predict a close game like last year but not as much scoring.
Bama 31
Clemson 27
Bama 31
Clemson 27

watso hasn't thrown many interceptions based on total number of passes he has made.
plus not every interception was his fault, some were off tipped balls by the receiver. on one of the interceptions in the end zone against Pitt, our TE ran to close to Renfrow so Renfrow's defender was in position to cover both of them.
if Clemson takes care of the ball, they should win.
