Obviously Texas should have sent the house when Beck came back in

But why didn't they do it when Stockton was in throughout the second half?

I don't get teams sitting back in coverage when a new QB comes in. Making him "read a defense" instead of making an inexperienced player have to make quick decisions. Make him read the turf, and if you get burned a time or two you get burned, but odds are the guy is going to fold under the pressure. Go after him and make him uncomfortable.

Just bad coaching. Reminds me of our coaching staff seeing Ole Miss consistently pressure Beck the week before we played UGA and completely shutting him down, and then us only blitzing him a couple of times

Not a lot of tape on him. But a known was he move better than Beck. You bring the house and don’t get home and it’s usually bad.

They should have known what the final play was though with Beck at QB.

Your D got pushed around in the second half was out of gas. Big hole to run through plus I think your line stunted and that helped to.

Beck wasn't gonna throw, he couldn't pick up his arm. Was just in since Stockton had to sit out a play since his helmet was knocked off....

Texas made a lot of coaching errors. One of which was not playing Manning more in the second half.

You're going to give up some plays when you bring the house, but against a young QB you're probably going to make more big plays than you give up.

Yeah seeing what Georgia Tech was able to do in that game a week earlier and then not trying to replicate that at least somewhat with Arch was a head scratcher. Especially since it wasn't like Ewers was torching Georgia, though they did move the ball decently well but could never finish drives.

Your team broke 1980, but you're still there mentally. Like many dawg fans, unfortunately. Forever damaged goods.

You could but then give up the run if he breaks contain or give him the hot check down route which is what the coaches wanted him to do anyway…short pass to a runner.

Better to cover short routes and keep him bottled up ….force a mistake by a young player. Which he made when the DL got home.

I don't get it either. Texas is very selective about blitzing, and I believe they should do it more often. This isn't the NFL, where you can get burned every time.

Look at Texas opponents - they blitz their arse off, and Ewers folds like a lawn chair.
