Well,it is an NCAA sanctioned and organized event, so I don't think they'll be inclined to just give it up, as it's used to help institutions keep all the other sports afloat.
But, yes, it is the only other that should be in the same breath as a "Big XX" sport.

That’s one definition, sure. It also says a system of chronology dating from a particular noteworthy event. Such as the advent of the portal/NIL. I always knew Alabama wasn’t a good school academically, and that they would accept pretty much any moron, but you are particularly special. The era of college football we are currently in is the NIL/portal era. It doesn’t matter if it has only been three years. I mean….wow.

They said the same about CFB until the SCOTUS heard the case of Oklahoma and Georgia.
NCAA (prior to SCOTUS) got all the CFB $$$$
