Exactly. But he’s nowhere near as important as Quinerly.

Still had your PG and lost. In Auburn

Lmao last year’s roster in the second round?

He literally lost in the first round of the NIT with the same roster in 2018-19...

Oh and btw, Quinerly was out today...and we still won. AT Auburn

You do not think Bama would have won their first round game based on the talent of the roster ? Oats underachieved with that team, but with scores you can go deep into the NCAA tournament. I really think Avery had them primed for last year, but was fired before he could do anything.

Whose fault is this? It's not like Pearl hasn't been at AU for a few months, this is his 7th season.

UAt has a lot of experience that was brought in by Avery. AU has one upper classman that plays and starts two true Freshman. This in a year that they have nothing to play for. Hell, Bama starts three Srs and one has been there when the were shooting underhand FT.

Herb Jones and John Petty are the only contributors from the Avery era. If you’re referring to Alex Reese, he barely deserves minutes on a D1 court most nights. Oats turned over half the roster this year with signees and transfers. AU is young and will get better with Cooper and Powell playing together, but to blame today’s loss on UA’s supposedly superior experience is a stretch.

ETA: Bama was also missing their primary ball handler and only actual PG today. Blaming losses on missing players and roster uncertainty will get old pretty quickly this year. I would get used to missing a guy here or there.

Bama had some shooter, they just sucked on D. Avery at least coached some D.

I was willing to talk actual basketball until you made your stand for Avery Johnson.

Damn shame Pearl hasn’t been there long enough to recruit a quality roster. Whose fault is it if AU has roster issues? That’s part of the sweaty man’s job.

Pretty sure the point is it’s one year and doesn’t tell the story. Pearl is a proven top coach in the conference.

Avery is no part of a college basketball coach. Like nearly all pro coaches, he never taught fundamentals (pros aren't supposed to need it), and his Alabama teams were some of the most fundamentally unsound college teams you'll ever see. Also, pros and college kids are treated very differently by their coaches...Avery has never figured that out.

Calapari has a losing record to Barnes.

Barnes has a losing record to Mark Fox.

BAMA's defense had played very well the last few games before today. The way Cooper played, he was going to make it tough on anyone.

Avery is not a better coach than Oats. Please stop trying to make this argument. You sound ridiculous.

What’s your point? Barnes is a better coach than Cal. Fox is better than Barnes.
