I think BK will be fine (eventually.) He will have more access to real talent than he has ever seen. That said, he has a major rebuild ahead of him so a winning season for 2022 would be a serious W.

In all honesty, BK has filled most of the holes with the transfer portal (there were several). I think it comes down to how well he and his assistant coaches have the team playing as a cohesive unit, especially the secondary and the O-line. Both of which are groups of players that need to communicate and work together to function (one blown assignment for either can potentially result in catastrophic results). Additionally, both of these are groups that BK has hit the portal for (5 DBs and 2 OL).

This tells me you don’t follow much football beyond the Tennessee program.

I think our starting lineup is on par with anyone else not named Bama/Georgia. The issue will be depth.

I see 5 to 6 games we should not lose period. So I will start with that as the bare minimum.

I say the ceiling is 3-3 in the rest of the games. So I'd say we are looking at 8-4 or 9-3 on BK's first year.

Win a bowl game to get to 9-4 or 10-3 for a best case scenario.

I don't see us beating Bama at all. So we need to get 3 wins out of Auburn, Aggie, Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee.

Even at our worst the last 2 years we beat Florida in 2020 and Aggie in 2021. We damn near beat Bama in 2021. So anyone hoping for an LSU collapse is probably going to be disappointed.

My guess is 8-4:

Florida State (New Orleans) - W
Southern - W
Mississippi State - W
New Mexico - W
at Auburn - L (really a tossup, IMO)
Tennessee - W
at Florida - W
Ole Miss - L
Alabama - L
at Arkansas - L (also a tossup, IMO)
UAB - W (but don't sleep on the Blazers)
at Texas A&M - W

It is more of an unknown. We have 5 DBs who transferred in, a CB coach in his first year here, and a safeties coach in his first year here as well. At this point, fans don't even know who will be starting, much less how well they will work together. I feel like the secondary will not be absolute trash or anything, but I have no tangible evidence to back up those claims as of yet. Similarly it seems at least 3 of the OL spots will be either true freshman or transfers.

The avatar with Nick Saban in an Alabama windbreaker probably should have tipped him off...

Predict LSU's first year record with BK.

I think the first year is going to be very rough.

They will squeek out wins against FSU and Miss State, then lose on the road to Auburn before getting absolutely run around and over by Tennessee then lost a close one to Florida on the road followed by a loss to Ole Miss and blowouts against Bama, Arky and a close one to Texas A&M.

Total, i have them going 5-7 in Kelley's first year. Ouch. Welcome to the SEC BK.

I have Tennessee going 5-7. Why not? If you can say that about LSU, I can say this about Tennessee.
