You're ignoring the fact that the majority of football talent is in the south. It's just recently (1990s) that all of these southern universities have started reaching their full athletic potential.

And you are more than ignoring the fact that Marcus Freeman is getting who he wants. This is a brand that has stood the test of time and is not a middle-of-the-road B!G team. Notre Dame is a hell of a lot more alluring, even today, than LSU. The fact that Kelly had to bail on the most prestigious brand in college football for 125 years is truly a Brian Kelly problem.

to not even win a single game against Alabama

It's amazing how many fans of other schools like to bring up Alabama's streak against us. Why do you take credit for another school's wins? Maybe one reason is Alabama won more games against us in that streak than you have in history.

Ryan Day is lucky there is a 12 team playoff now.

Why? OSU had to win 4 games last year instead of winning 2 before.

OSU 2024 gets in as the 4 seed 10 times out of 10 in the 4 team playoff era

Oregon
UGA
ND
OSU

OSU had more top 10 wins than PSU and Texas combined, and they beat PSU head to head. Texas had zero top 25 wins before the playoffs

Notre Dame's recruiting classes under Freeman (247 Composite):

2023: #12
2024: #9
2025: #12

So Freeman is getting who he wants and is enjoying Playoff success. Well, so did Kelly at Notre Dame. I would know that because BAMA played them twice during the BCS and 4-team Playoff era.

Kelly at LSU is 0 for 3 seasons in SECC and Playoff appearances. The math is really not that hard. Unless the Playoffs are something else, the Cajuns have sworn off. I'll wait for your next deflection.

Yea, i think it was technically impossible to win a natty at ND during his tenure. How much money and effort did Tennessee expend from 2010-2021 to not even win a single game against Alabama? To go 0-12 against a rival. Those games weren't even close. Average margin of defeat was 28.5. Laughable. But hey, congrats on that 12 team playoff appearance, hang the banner.

Actually, if you just compare UT and LSU coaching salaries by year...you would get (in Millions):

2011 - LSU $3.80/ UT $2.30
2012 - LSU $3.86/ UT $2.01
2013 - LSU $4.59 / UT $4.86
2014 - LSU $4.59 / UT $2.96
2015 - LSU $4.39 / UT $3.63
2016 - LSU $4.39 / UT $4.11
2017 - LSU $3.50 / UT $4.11
2018 - LSU $3.50 / UT $3.85
2019 - LSU $4.00 / UT $3.85
2020 - LSU $8.98 / UT $3.86
2021 - LSU $9.01 / UT $4.00

So, during that time, UT paid $37.24 Million to go 0-12 vs Bama, while LSU paid $46.42 Million to go 3-9 against them.

Now, since 2021, UT has gone 2-1 vs Alabama and has paid $23 Million while LSU has paid $29.75 Million to go 1-2 against them.

Leave it to MeltyMulkyMetryDoctorMan to make me defend UT

Brian Kelly is from Massachusetts, the literal ground zero State of where carpet baggers originated from

Josh Heupal is from South Dakota, which was a territory fighting off Indians during the carpetbagger era

What an idiot

Notre Dame has finished below LSU in recruiting every year except the transition year, since the coaching changes.

lol dude, they can pay players now! That's the difference. Obviously ND is a top brand, i'm not arguing that. But they were handcuffed while Kelly was there. Now all the sudden they can pay players and make the playoff with 1 or 2 losses. Huge factors. Kelly made the natty at ND when he couldn't pay players and only 2 teams made it. Use your critical thinking skills.

Can't believe you wasted time researching such completely useless numbers. Does this prove some sort of point? LSU spent more money on coaches than Tenn in the past decade and had significantly more success. 2 sec titles and a Natty. Pretty good decade imo.
