Ridiculously high prices not counting the food and travel
Many just can’t afford to attend games anymore.
I would like to attend 2 games a year but it’s gotten crazy expensive
Even tickets for Vandy UT at Vandy are around the same price last game I attended
Me my daughter her husband all went.
Nashville is a fun place to spend the weekend but be ready for the receipt lol

It's gotten that way in a lot of places lately.
It's price gouging to some extent quite honestly.

Not that I'm overly active on here, but the past couple days have drained me of any excitement that I had for the game. One of the few times that's happened in my life

We sure about this? Going on the road to the defending national champions? Y’all still had your great offense and important pieces on the defense. No way Tenner was winning that game
The whole ESPN set picked them. Half the SEC coaches in a piece put out by the Athetic were saying we couldn't stop their offense and would have to outscore them and questioned if we could. One said McConkey wouldn't start for 3/4ths of the teams in the conference (I wish we knew which coach that was).
And those are unbiased voices.
The idea that the Vol faithful didn't think they were gonna win that game and didn't think they had an excellent shot going in? You're living in delusion.
My point is we all are talking about this game beforehand and saying in that game "we really didn't have a shot then." That's not the same.
The fans, just like this year (and likely even more so then), felt they had an excellent shot of knocking off Georgia.
Talking about how good we were then or that the game was in Athens, blah, blah is just hindsight excusing the loss and saying there wasn't a real chance. That could be the exact same thing said a year or two from now about this year.
These two teams haven't played anyone in the same neighborhood of talent they will face today. We don't really know if Tennessee has a chance or if Georgia is way overrated, etc. etc. Right now, we're just going on feelings and that's the exact same things we were going on in 2022 (with far more evidence to back those feelings).

If I wasn't working and then watching us spank Vandy I would love to go to this game. Should be an awesome atmosphere.

I'm waiting for the scoreboard to open to unleash.

Speaking of home, when are you actually going to your first UGA home game?
Gotta go get a Walmart TShirt to wear for it for the optimal sidewalk experience

Dawgs are going to beat UT by at least 14 like always.
This ain’t the year for Bobby Hill’s squad. The Georgia Defense is better than last year and the offense has better playmakers.

Can Slingblade at QB get the ball to them?

Yep, and he won’t turn it over like your App State rental.

The pressure is on UT fans. If they cant beat this UGA team, they got some serious questions to ask about their coach.
UGA w\ Kirby spent about 5 years near the top but losing to the best team the SEC (bama) before they got over the hump (natty, obviously you had won the SEC prior, but you still lost to bama). IMO VOLS have solidified themselves in the 2nd tier at this point and are somewhat at that 2017-2020 UGA level. Breaking into the elite takes time and talent (even for a great coach like Kirby). Assuming it’s not like an embarrassing blowout or terribly coached loss (which is entirely possible), losing to UGA doesn’t necessarily mean we have serious issues (especially if we are successful against the remainder of our schedule), it just means we aren’t quite there yet. And we’d likely have a chance for a rematch if we took care of business the rest of the season.

You haven’t played in an SEC championship game over that period. Not even a close comparison

one is scared, the other is glad of it

Probably the dumbest statement on the internet today.

I said “somewhat” for a reason

While you are technically correct, making the playoffs is, these days, the ultimate goal.
From experience I can tell you that if youre already in the playoffs, the SECCG becomes a liability.

I think that's a stretch.
2017 - 13-2. Lost to #1 Bama in NC, #10 Auburn on the road.
2018 - 11-3. Lost to #6 LSU on the road. #2 Bama in SECCG. #9 Texas in bowl.
2019 - 12-2. Lost to a bad SC team at home in double OT (the outlier game for UGA). Lost to #1 LSU in SECCG.
I'm leaving 2020 out because it was an outlier year due to the covid stuff.
Now let's look at Tennessee in their last 3 seasons.
2022 - 11-2 (lost to #1 UGA on road and #23 SC on road)
2023 - 9-4 (lost to #4 UGA at home, a bad UF team on the road, #5 bama on the road and #8 Mizzou on the road.
2024 - 10-3 (lost to #6 UGA on the road, #1 Ohio State on the road and 7-6 Arksnasas on the road)
In my view, Tennessee hasn't reached the level of consistency UGA had before their step up to winning NC's. I view them more like UGA from 2002-2005 under Mark Richt. Similar records, but often having road losses to more "mediocre" type teams that keep them from actually getting into championship contention.
UGA from 2017-2019 (other than that one SC blip) only lost games to top 10 teams and none of them were at home. That's continued through today. No home losses to anyone, even highly ranked teams. THe losses that have happened have all been on the road or at neutral sites.
UGA is winning the games that are supposed to win. Home games against everyone and road games against all the low ranked opponents... and some against ranked ones too. There's only one outlier game in the last 8 (9 if you include this year) seasons... that home double OT loss to SC.
Tennessee isn't there yet. They're still losing home games to ranked teams (UGA this year and 2 years ago). They're still losing road games to mediocre or bad teams (UF in 2023, Arky in 2024)
Tennessee hasn't reached that level of consistent performance Smart did from his 2nd year on. They're more like early Mark Richt at UGA. Very good, but not legitimate title contention teams.
