Seriously, it isn’t.

But IF Georgia goes on to lose this game, all teams with a bye will have ended up losing their opener.

Do you think this is just a result of a few teams not deserving of a bye (namely ASU & BSU) being improperly seeded, or is it detrimental to the teams who had to sit an extra week+?

I’m of the mind that it’s a bit of a combination. ASU and BSU likely didn’t deserve the seeding, and ORE & UGA had to sit for an extended period before facing tough opponents.

Should the committee consider changing the seeding, bye week, both?

Yeah it’s becoming obvious that the teams who played in week 1 are more “game ready” than teams with a bye

I appreciate the sentiment, but uga was lucky to be in this game. Our team has been inconsistent all year, I’m not sure why, but we need to figure it out before next season.

ASU and Boise never should’ve gotten a bye. Georgia without Beck was never winning the Title. I know he gets a lot of slack on here but he’s much better than Stockton.

You make a good point. I’d agree that the seeding ought to change. Whether it should change and work itself out amongst twelve teams or not is the question for me. I think it would work better with eight teams. There honestly is no reason to have twelve teams in the CFP.

Eight teams makes for a logical playoff progression. Twelve just makes it confusing and gives us something other than major blowouts to watch.

And… (I have to swallow a little pride to say this) … good luck to your ‘Horns! I’d like to see y’all take that trophy this year.

Indiana did not deserve to be in the playoff because they lost to ND by 10 in their first game.

UGA lost to ND by 13 in their first game in the playoff. They obviously did not deserve to be in the playoff either.

This was my thought watching Oregon get destroyed starting the game yesterday. OSU may very well be the better team, but by the time the ducks got their legs it was too late.

Nothing to do with the bye. UGA needed the rest.

UGA simply made too many mistakes. -2 turnover margin and a big special teams screw up.

ND played clean. UGA didn't. Overall UGA played a tiny bit better disregarding the screw ups, but nowhere near enough to overcome them.

You can’t lump all the games together.

They're each discrete.

Georgia was playing without its starting Qb.

ASU hit on a couple plays that made a huge difference.

Boise St was just beaten.

Appreciate the sentiment, OSU looked damn near unbeatable yesterday. We will certainly need to field a better product than we have the last two weeks.

The seeding issue has to change. The top 4 teams should get a bye. Conference champs be damned.

And I'm ok with 12. There will be upsets as this thing goes. We see it all the time in college football. Just because it didn't happen doesn't mean it won't happen next year. Maybe BSU/ASU needed to be playing to keep their momentum going.

Just fix the damn seeding. And get rid of the championship games.
