Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and LSU all have more. It's crazy to think that we all recognize them as the established Big Dog now and they've only won the conference once in that time frame...

Winning 28 of your last 29 games + being reigning champs will do that

Mark Richt was front heavy with his success. The latter years, obviously, are what got him fired.

Still, admittedly, massive underachieving, IMO.

Good enough to be Big Dog

Not enough to be Top Dog

Another crazy/hilarious thought - Florida hasn’t won the SEC since the Bush administration

When was the last time we lost 7 games?

If you mean UGA, 2010.

That has literally nothing to do with the OP. Start your own thread if you want to highlight this point.

But since you are trying to troll LSU with this: in the allotted timeframe of this post Georgia and LSU each have one 6-7 season. Feel better?

1) Rewind your arbitrary date back a couple months and we have 2. Still not awesome, but oh well

2) It's really not crazy considering that the team in our way from winning more titles is primiarly the same team that's prevented LSU (and anyone else) from winning them. We were great in 2012 but couldn't beat bama. We are "really good" I'd call us in 2018 but couldn't beat bama. We slogged our way thorugh a weak east in 2019 but weren't even remotely close to as good as LSU. Last year was a tossup that sucked to lose.

When you really look at it, how many times from 2006 on can you say "UGA was probably the best team in the league that year but didn't win the SEC"? You could potentially argue 2007 and 2021 but other than that I'd say things have mostly gone according to what you'd suspecdt.

What really needs more attention drawn to it is that UT hasn't won it since 98. People used to love the 1980 jokes, but honestly winning a national title is hard as hell and takes a lot of luck. You're competing against 100+ other teams then have to play a top 3 team at least once (sometimes twice) to win it all. To win the SEC you have to be the best out of the other 6 teams in your division, hten have a 1-off game against someone else. You're competing with a pool of 13 others. It really is almost hard to fathom how a progeram that as of 1998 was clearly, without the slightest quesiton, the 2nd best SEC program of all time has gone this long without wining even its league.

The SEC is rough. No excuses from me on this. Hard as hell to win the SEC.

Just looked, Bammer 8, LSU 4, UGA 3, the barn 3 and UF 2 in the last 20 seasons (since 2002).

Off the top of my head, Florida has 2 and Auburn has 3 in that same span

The Big... 5?

Also pretty crazy, you have to go back to 1998 to find someone who is not one of those five teams.
