They’re not trying to attract top GA students. And they shouldn’t.

Who are they trying to attract? The OP mentioned 3.8 HS GPA requirement. All those students get tuition free education at any of 32 State schools to which they can gain admission, including UGA and GT. The OP mentioned that they’d simply get in state tuition rates at Arkansas..not tuition free. Add in that many can also get existing no special no application needed academic scholarships at Bama/OM/MSU/Mizzou/etc in addition to out of state tuition waivers and it seems to me to be a hard sell.

I believe in the next 50 years, Arkansas will be the best option in the SEC

The likely Balkanization of the US in the next 50 years aside, the SEC has less than 10 years left at best.

1. East TN is booming with multiple industries flocking or expanding in the region. The weather is better than NW Arkansas. The population is welcoming and ready to absorb these companies with infrastructure and the ability to power them. We have the resources other areas lack.

NW Arkansas is pretty but harsh winters and limited in state power resources combined with its geographical location will limit it. The Scholarship is a great recruiting tool and could pull some students with some rehoming to the region but most of those states have enough options to make distance a huge disadvantage.

The only area of Arkansas that's is truly demographically challenged is the Southeast part of the state.

Northwest Arkansas, Northern Arkansas, a few counties in Northeast Arkansas and Central Arkansas have seen population growth.

Also they will expand U.S 412 which will continue the population growth of Northwest Arkansas and Northern Arkansas.

Expansion

I know you’ve seen Arkansas Best Freight in your neighborhood. ;)
ABF Freight is one of the nation's largest, most trusted less-than-truckload carriers…..

Arkansas is also the 4th slowest growing. Only Missouri, Louisiana, and Mississippi are growing slower.

There’s a reason you have to go out and offer cheaper tuition to kids from other states… and that’s not a good thing.

Accurate assessment.
