When a non-biased person actually watches the play...and considers the Position of the Receiver, and Defenders, to where the pass/ball was thrown & actually lands - relative to the players - the "Ball was not in Play" for the Receiver, but it Was in Play for the Defenders!

The pass was Way SHORT! If the receiver had "tried" to catch it, which "There Was No Way He Could Have"......then it would have been Offensive Interference, for the ball was far more catchable and "in play" for the Defender!

And that is how/what/why to Referee did not call pass interference!

Could it have been called - Yes. Thousands of obvious incorrect calls/flags are thrown and/or not called. This particular play & non-call WAS NOT AS BLATANT as some people think/believe!

The Ball was thrown Short and there was NO WAY the Receiver could have caught it, and the Referee Saw That! What the referee also saw was an outstandingly well covered receiver by 2 defenders! The Georgia Defenders made a Great Play, while the Bama Offense (receiver outran, misjudged) and/or the QB threw the ball too short!

Georgia was obviously the better team on both offense/defense throughout the entire game. Bama was lucky the score & game was even in reach!

The ball literally hit the Alabama receiver in the upper thigh.

Serious question: how do you decide which words you're going to capitalize? Is it random? Do you have some kind of method?

As he & his body (position) were falling/flying Back @ Incredible Speed (inertia) Away from the Ball.

Sometimes slow motion skews the physics of what the "real time reality" (and player/s possibilities)!

WATCH the ACTUAL PLAY, PLAYER'S POSITIONS - TO WHERE THE PASS/BALL LANDS! And then honestly say "who" was in the better position to catch it. If the defender had not had his back to the ball - he would have caught it - for he was far more in position to catch that ball.

It's almost like you have no idea what pass interference means at all.

Wolfhound, this is the kind of stuff I'm talking about when I say your team's fanbase has very little knowledge of the game

the only reason the ball looked like it was thrown short was because #4 from georgia tackled the receiver. you could put that play in the ref training manual as a prototypical example of pass interference, its not debatable. the georgia player never looked for the ball and crashed into the bama receiver before the ball arrived, and the ball was catchable if not interfered with.

They should have penalized Alabama. I agree. The Georgia players literally knocked down the Alabama player well before the ball would have landed right in his hands around stomach level.

If you look closely though, you can see that once the Bama player was knocked to the ground way before the ball arrived, he never even tried to catch the ball any more; it's like he just gave up.

If not for him purposely falling due to laziness and not wanting to win enough, him squirming around on the ground did indeed cause interference to the Georgia defenders who could have caught the ball.

So you admit the DB used incredible force to separate the WR from the ball.

Cool.

ETA: I'm a Saints fan, too, so this isn't my first rodeo. Officials miss blatant penalties and there's nothing you can do about it.

But to say it wasn't textbook pass interference is a fricking joke.

“If the defender had not had his back to the ball - he would have caught it - for he was far more in position to catch that ball.”

That’s true. But he didn’t turn around. He ran into the receiver…

I have no dog in the fight, but it was pretty obvious.

It was PI.

The defender in question never played the football and made contact with the receiver prior to the balls arrival. Easy call, but missed.

SEC officiating has always been terrible, so nothing surprises me these days.

He knows it. Everyone knows it.

I don't see why it's so hard to admit it. They still won the game.

Nobody believe your lying eyes. KidCreole is here to set us straight. All the rules experts, national pundits, former players and fans from every other fanbase than UgA and some random Bama haters got nothing on the Kid.

TideSaint, this imbecile apparently doesn't realize that you can see the ball at the top of the pic. Go figure

Yes, and it's because LSU fans have no agenda regarding other teams !
