But it is clear that as soon as his contract expired he left to go to the program with a head coach that will be fired next year.

This is Bobby Petrino joining Sam Pittman's staff.

I don't believe that at all. Nolan doesn't seek to be a HC.

Sometimes working for a nacissist is difficult.

I have my criticisms of Earley but he learns. And he is putting together a great staff.

Most important he isn’t a douchebag

I’ll take Pennington coaching third base and Cain as a recruiter and talent evaluator.

But to be honest, A&M needs a pitching coach first and foremost

Hired one a couple of days ago. Know nothing about him though.

Huh, he interviewed for the UH job a month or so ago. But you must know him personally, so I defer to you.

Tu really butthurt over this move. Unlike the schloss move where they got a douche for HC and zero players, Aggies getting a very good Coach who is bringing a top tu recruit with him.

That is how to play the game.

I don't really know what the guy did or does. I'm sure he's a fine recruiter but in the NIL era I'm not sure how much that matters as much as the $$$. He was a pretty bad third base coach, that's all I know about him.

Huh? Do you follow your team’s program, or just randomly comment on threads?

Cain is widely regarded as one of the elite recruiters in college baseball. From LSU, to Texas A&M, and then Texas, he produced eight top 10 classes and six top 5 classes.

In his first recruiting cycle at Texas, he signed the #1 class, then followed that with classes ranked #2 in 2025 and #3 nationally for 2026.

He was also credited with landing players like Carson Tinney and Aiden Robbins.

That’s about as strong a two-year recruiting stretch as any program in the country can reasonably expect.

I never said otherwise.

So the best program in the country and the two highly motivated programs awash in oil money? Cool. I would expect that to be the case.

Yeah, we (a) hired Schlossnagle, (b), started playing in the SEC, and (c) and threw a bunch of money around. All of which are still true with Cain heading to College Station.

Again, I think he's a great recruiter. But the reasons these kids are coming to Texas are money, money, money, Schlossnagle, Wiener, and Tulowitzski. In that order. We'll hire his replacement and be fine, just like the other schools that are consistently in the top 10 in recruiting without him on the staff.
