I'm honestly surprised TMZ hadn't run a story about it. Especially with the big stink going on in the NFL the last few years with domestic assault.

At this point in time Simmons is a nobody.

This is what I'm talking about. If it stays off of their radar he will be alright.

I agree, as long as the story doesn't gain any more momentum.

So is Dak and they ran with a much less damning story.

[quote]No punishment expected for 5* Simmons
No deflect. Just showing examples from other SEC coaches who have given players 2nd chances and that not all players who make a mistake should automatically be labeled "tPOS"

The difference is that Stringfellow did receive punishment for what he did and it wasn't close to hitting a defenseless woman while she was on the ground. Not saying Simmons should be kept from playing, but there should be some punishment.

What was his punishment? Being kicked off Washington?

Maybe the Noxbee coach will kick Simmons off the football team since he isn't a member of the State football team yet. He's not under Mullen's watch yet so why is this Mullen's job to punish him but it isn't Freeze's job to punish Stringfellow? Both did the same thing when they weren't members of their football team.

And Stingfellow knocked the girl out. Simmons didn't.

quote:

, “Stringfellow hit (her) in the head. (She) fainted, though it appears she was not out for a long period of time (it is unclear whether she passed out from the blow or due to the exertion and the fact she was ill).”

At least Simmons beat someone down in his same weight class. That's more than Stringfelon can say.

Where are the feminists? I'd love to hear their side. Do they take the equal rights bit or the hardcore defensive bit.

What is Mullen supposed to do in this situation by say he is monitoring it? Immediately suspended immediately Simmons from the team? Oh that's right, he's not on the team yet.

when Jeremy Hill was charged in high school, he wasn't allowed to be part of the LSU football team until his legal matters wer resolved. Those matters didn't end up being resolved in time, and Hill had to wait a year to enroll at LSU. So yes, Mullen could tell Simmons he will not be allowed to be a part of the football team until his legal issues are cleared, regardless if he's on the team yet or not.

I'm trying to figure out why exactly you think Mullen can't do anything to Simmons. His current presence on the team is irrelevant.

Im no urban fan but this quote is silly. Meyer didn't tolerate physical violence toward women. He tolerated a lot but that wasnt one of the things.

Dan is screwing this up and it looks really bad for MSU. The title 9 types will eat this up. If this happened at a name brand school like uf, Alabama, notre dame, fsu it would be national news and the pressure would be immense. State better hope this stays quiet.

Mullen will decide on punishment around the same time the FBI rules on Hillary's illegal server.
