Any 300lb man hitting a prone woman has problems. I don't care what the girl said or how much of a trashy bitch she is, you just cant. This is very bad for MSU and they need to distance themselves from it. I would feel the same if he signed with Ole Miss or any other school for that matter.

I think any man that hits a woman has serious problems. However, for someone without any prior criminal history or conduct issues, I don't believe in not allowing a second chance. I don't, however, agree with no punishment whatsoever either.

Let him get his second chance at a 1AA school or something. If he is good enough the NFL scouts will find him.

Did Stringfellow deserve a second chance at Ole Miss?

And if you do want to take that position, then I assume you don't think Damore’ea Stringfellow should have ever been allowed to transfer to Ole Miss.

I'm pretty sure I said I didn't want Stringfellow because of his legal issues. It's been 2 years so I don't remember for sure, but I remember not being overjoyed by the idea.

That may be true but has that affected you cheering for his success to help your team win?

There isn't anything I can do about it now. Also he didn't beat a woman. He wrestled a camera away from her. He also paid for the damage and had to do something like 70 hour of community service. Oh yeah, he also got kicked off his team.

To answer your question though, yes I cheer for my team and by proxy Stingfellow. I'm still not overjoyed that he was able to transfer to Ole Miss.

The report says he struck her in the head and she then went unconscious. And yes he got kicked off his team, but Ole Miss welcomed him with open arms after he played 1-AA for a year due to transfer rules. Your position was that no one who hits a girl belongs in the SEC, which is why I personally brought up Stringfellow

And I have said multiple times I don't think he should have been able to transfer to Ole Miss.

Not that I'm trying to defend stringfellow...but the police report only says he struck her. its possible that he might have struck her with his elbow while trying to wrestle away the camera. It's also possible he hit her with a hay-Maker. None of us know.

But stringfellow served a punishment for it. No one is saying Simmons should be casted away from football completely. Yes, he deserves a second chance. He just doesn't deserve to play at a major school this fall. Juco or an fcs(there is no more d-1aa fellas) for a year. If he transfers back to msu after that + whatever other punishment...then so be it.

Although he was pretty pissed that his position coach left right after signing day, so I doubt he'd come back to msu.

No deflect. Just showing examples from other SEC coaches who have given players 2nd chances and that not all players who make a mistake should automatically be labeled "tPOS"

he was punching a defenseless woman who was laying on the ground in the head!

GTFO trying to pretend that somebody who isn't a POS thug would do that.

-msu fan argument, basically.

Stringfellow did deserve a second chance. He was trying to take a phone away. Even some of the witnesses said he didn't appear to try to hurt her, he was just trying to get the camera away. Its not good and he got kicked out of school and went to court.

I think that Simmons should get a second chance at some point. I don't believe that any public good is served by turning him into a permanent pariah. But, as I said earlier, there appears to be NO consequences heading his way other than bad press. I thought that if MSU wanted to keep him, they could give him an ultimatum that he doesn't play his first year or something to that effect. But instead there is nothing.

Except for the whole sugar bowl suspension thing.

We should have had a team vote I guess.

Yeah apparently the state of Washington treats violent offenders more appropriately than the state of Mississiippi. If he was only charged with disorderly conduct, there are bigger problems than Dan Mullen. Honestly I think the charges have a lot to do with his actions. But seriously the butt hurt of Ole Miss fans has been hilarious. Y'all need to get over it.

He should get a second chance. Like most teenagers do that do something stupid. But again. Getting a second chance means after some heavy consequences. I personally believe state should pull his scholly. Tell him to go play at Co Lin for a year. Then come back after a year of good behavior. Simple as that. I would support that 100% and applaud state for that.

But if nothing happens then MSU is ok with woman beating.

Why doesn't Dan just look down at his bracelet on his wrist and ask himself the question??

"What would Tebow do"?

If you were arrested in Oxford, as a normal joe, and were ultimately charged with disorderly conduct, you would not be expelled from school. This 100% has everything to do with the fact there's a video and he's a football player. And Ole Miss fans' obsession over what State decides to do 100% has to do with where this kid plays football, not what the kid did. I think Mullen should have given him a suspension of some sort and that Simmons should have been charged with assault and not disorderly conduct. But at the end of the day, he wasn't, end of story. Just move on
