Gator it HAS happened at those schools. Your point? I can google every team that had far worse and stayed on a team. Difference is he is not on the team. Simply a recruit. But you are more holy than thou and love to skip your own previous issues. Nice job.

Hitting a woman while she's on the ground repeatedly? Find instances for me and I'll be on your side.

He is not a recruit
he is a signed student athlete attending your university.
say you get accepted to a job that is not available to felons. And before your first day of work you get a felony. They don't then allow you to keep said job because you didn't officially work there yet.
Imagine how easy recruiting is gonna be n the state if Jeffrey Simmons is allowed to stay on mississippi states roster?

But he's not attending State.
So do OM fans have zero tolerance or not? Just trying to see where yall's moral compass is.
Say you have a job and you get fired for a felony and then you find a new job at a different company, knowing your shady past. Is the felony is okay because he already got fired from the job before? That's OM fan's logic it seems.

Freeze will have a field day showing that video to the recruits' mothers.

Will be interesting to see if MSU makes a decision based on potential PR hit. Because you know one of their boosters will be out some serious cash. Not a good situation they have found themselves in.

Surely you're smarter than this? I doubt Freeze says to much w/ Stringfellow, Kelly, and Butt Boy, all on his team. Don't forget the Nkemdiche's

There's video of those guys repeatedly striking a woman while she's on the ground?

Stringfellow - Was wrong for what he did and paid a price. Basically he tried to take a camera from a girl and it was around her neck and it hurt her. Nobody ever accused him of laying a beating on her. And he deserved to stand tall in court and get kicked out of school.
Chad Kelly - Got punched in the face at a bar and then had an argument with a bouncer outside.
Sounds a lot like what Simmons did. I don't think Simmons should have his entire life ruined and never get a chance to succeed. I think that what most people are saying is that even by SEC standards this was pretty bad and the general appearance is that NOTHING will happen to him because of it.

No. State fans just can't help but to deflect their problems to ole miss
Stringfellow doesn't have anything to do with Simmons just as Simmons doesn't have anything to do with stringfellow.
It's just their defense mechanism.

This is the first time I have seen the vid and it's even worse than I had realized. If Simmons ever plays a single down of football at any SEC school I will be really sad for our conference.
The fact that MSU people are trying to act like this is no big deal, part of the culture, or just a tiny punch makes me sick.
Anyone that is trying to make this out to be no big deal is fricking trash, plain and simple.

I'm sure if there was a video of any domestic violence case involving any player in the conference it would look bad. And there have been plenty of players, former and current, with domestic violence in their past. I don't think Mullen should not punish this kid at all, but I think it's a huge overreaction to say he should never be allowed to play football in the SEC again.
And if you do want to take that position, then I assume you don't think Damore’ea Stringfellow should have ever been allowed to transfer to Ole Miss.

SEC domestic violence policy.
Now I realize this isn't exactly domestic assault, but hitting a prone woman seems like serious misconduct to me.

well Simmons case isn't a domestic case, so that new rule is irrelevant. The fact that it was a woman does not make it domestic. I don't believe that rule covers assault. And from what has been posted here, Simmons wasn't even charged with assault either.

that's the problem with this rule IMO. It is entirely too vague

Any 300lb man hitting a prone woman has problems. I don't care what the girl said or how much of a trashy bitch she is, you just cant. This is very bad for MSU and they need to distance themselves from it. I would feel the same if he signed with Ole Miss or any other school for that matter.
