If a court rules for the players in question and against the SEC, they would be incredibly stupid for taking action against a member institution ! The money liability would bankrupt them !

OM fan here, and I for one don’t want LSU kicked out. Don’t think it will happen either.
But the statements coming out of the other SEC presidents (UGA, TN, etc) make it clear that they take very seriously the rule against pro players coming back. And also, the SEC rule against inter-conference transfers outside the January portal window.
If Kiffin plays these guys under a *temporary* order by a single judge, and it’s later reversed, I think you’re looking at way more than a little slap on the wrist.
Lot of ifs, but lot of risk.
